Sehenswerter Ort und schöne imposante Schlucht die grün bewachsen ist. Viele bewohnte (Einheimische) Höhlen und einige als Ferienwohnung. Tolle Wanderwege, wo es viel zu entdecken gibt. Ich empfehle auch auszusteigen und sich umzusehen und nicht einfach hinundher zu fahren. Für hungrige Ausflügler gibt es auch Gastronomie. Lugar espectacular entre altas y preciosas montañas We had a thoroughly enjoyable day out in the valleys and and the Barranco de Guayadeque was our first stop. To find this place, navigate to the Museo de Guayadeque and then keep driving up the road where you will eventually come to a car park. You can then get out and explore. The scenery in the barranco is absolutely stunning and the pictures just don't do it justice. You feel so tiny with the landscape towering above you. It's a very lush and green area, full of vegetation. On one side of the valley there are traditional Canarian cave homes built into the side of the cliff face which we enjoyed looking at and learning about. On the other side (across the road) there is a stream which we crossed to find wildflowers, cactus and lots of lizards. We had lunch in the cave restaurant El Centro, which we enjoyed. There are several eateries here that are built into the cave and they are worth a visit even just for the experience of eating underground in a cave - and the food was good too. We also loved how peaceful it was: the whole area is a huge contrast to the fast paced style of the coast and definitely worth the visit if you are able to. Recommended. This little village is made of a bunch of houses, a souvenir shop selling locally made produce and few restaurants all carved into the mountain. The views are spectacular, the microclimate of the valley favours lush and exotic plants to grow, the silence adds to the magic of this place. Top attraction are the houses carved into the with their cute gardens and unusual setup. The restaurants and picnic spots are popular with locals and tourists alike so best time to visit is during the week. Also, good to have a jumper handy as the temperature up the is always few good degrees lower than by the sea. A must see place, truly showcasing Gran Canaria’s biodiversity. A road you have to drive if you're on Gran Canaria, simply spectacular views. Faaantastico place, call at the great museum halfway up, then park at the end, short walk round admiring great views down to coast. Then take the path round the hill, go in the cave craft shop. Swerve the restaurant and go into the café, beer to die for, must try the Kaffir. Really nice valley, the view at the end is stunning! The road through the valley is fun to drive and you can see a lot of houses that are built into the mountains. A good place to walk and enjoy nature. Impressive to look up to the mountains, overgrown with a huge variety of cacti and succulents. In the ravine itself grow a lot of poppies and other flowers. There are quite a few restaurants to take a break and enjoy local cuisine. Beautiful place. All the rewievs are true. I would like add that there is also a picnic place in the middle of the way. As we were there at the beginning of february, the flowering almond trees were everywhere. Dont forget visit also a museum in the beginning of ravine.
