Bandama Caldera

Las Palmas, Spain Crater

One of the Best Places To Visits in Santa Brígida Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Not much to see, just an open field A dramatic volcanic crater not far from Las Palmas. Caldera de Bandama is around 1 km wide and 200 metres deep. You can walk along the rim for panoramic views or take the steeper path down into the crater for a closer look at the terrain. The rim trail is the easier option, uneven in parts, but manageable with decent shoes. The descent into the crater is tougher and best avoided in midday heat. There’s a small viewing platform nearby (Mirador de Bandama), and you can drive right up to it. Good spot for photos and learning a bit of local geology. Very nice route for a trip, beautiful views and lots of spots where you can sit and enjoy the views! Great walk..Not easy all the way around but absolut well worth the effort. You get some great view point for taking pictures or just enjoy the view. And looking into the volcano crater is just fascinating. Don´t worry it´s about 2000 years ago since it last erupted. It is easy to get down and really tough to get all the way back up again. It starts off with a pathway but quickly it disappears. Be careful when it's raining as it can be slippery. As there is an old wine vineyard/distillery there it makes me think how they managed to get all the wine up haha. They do have a information board explaining the house there but not that part. There are so many pretty flowers, green trees and other interesting plants. If you can I'd recommend a trip down to see everything there. Do explore most of it! Unfortunately there are so many people carving names into the great tree there, such a shame to see. Nice place to hike, demanding path, very warm Visiting the Caldera de Bandama is more than just a scenic walk—it's a journey to clear your mind and reconnect with nature. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply looking for a peaceful spot to reflect, Bandama will surprise and refresh you. A Peaceful Connection with Nature. !!!The trail around the Caldera de Bandama is quite rocky and can get slippery, especially when you're descending or climbing.!!! The trail along the ridge of the caldera is a great place to hike, especially on a clear day when you can see most of the eastern part of gran Canaria, and maybe even Fuerteventura. Beautiful flora and if you are lucky, quite a number of lizards enjoying the sun. Be sure to add this location to a list when planning a sightseeing of island's mountains. It's not a caldera, it is explosion site, which makes it even more exciting to see and photos does not convey the massiveness of the place. Fantastic views! There is a point where the volcano meets the green tundra that we loved; at the opposite part of the walking start. Amazing time going there by motorcykle, to bad it was raining But it was Good anyways. Id say the ride there were actually Better then the siting itself. Oh Well, you Will enjoy it! There is no safe descent, the place is beautiful Pleasant hike, nice geological structures, a bit over an hour with teens and pre-teens.
