I came here to buy some plants and compost during spring and I managed to get some shade tolerant shrubs and plants. Very nice laid out garden centre and very neat as well. Indoors there is a selection of outdoor furniture that you can purchase along with garden tools. Plenty of parking and easy access to reverse your car to put bags of compost, topsoil or bark into your car. What a place! We had a look round and saw some wonderful flowers at the entrance, the two florists were working hard on wreaths and all the staff are extremely pleasant. We decided to have lunch which consisted of some wonderful fish and chips with the manager, Bruna, making a particular effort to check everything was ok and we had the necessary condiments. An amazing farm shop. Gorgeous plants as you arrive, the cafe area was in the farm shop which was lovely, there was a little lacking attention to clean the cafe table areas though. The prices were fair for the products- I enjoyed an everything flapjack which was heaven and the coffee is delicious too. I took a sausage roll with hot honey, brie and bacon home and wow it was a taste sensation. The Christmas decoration area was amazing some unique finds that I can't wait to get my hands on next time I go! The food was really good and the staff were very friendly. However, we all had a bit of trouble cutting the bread because the knives were quite dull. It would be great if the restaurant could provide sharper knives — it would make things much easier. By the time you cut through your bread it has gone cold. We visited Weetons at Crimple Meadows to have lunch, celebrating Mum's 89th birthday. As usual it was very busy so we were glad we'd booked a table for 12:15pm. We received a friendly welcome and were escorted to our table. Our drinks and then food order were taken and all was going well..until just gone 1pm, when we still hadn't received our food. I advised the waitress who apologised and said it would be another 5-10 minutes, taking us to 1:15pm. At this point, Bruna, a senior staff member stepped in, apologising profusely and explaining that there had been a ticketing problem when the order was placed with the kitchen. Bruna immediately offered a generous discount for the delay. The food finally arrived at just after 1:25pm, a wait of 1 hour 10 minutes from when we arrived by which time we were all very hungry especially Mum. We enjoyed our food and both the waitress and Bruna checked to see if everything was ok. At the end of the meal, with another generous gesture, Bruna insisted on providing us with coffee on the house and then brought over some lovely cake as an additional treat. The reason for leaving this review is because our lunch could have been a really bad experience but thanks to Bruna's professionalism and kindness, we left feeling good about our experience, not because we received free cake and coffee but because one of your team cared enough to make sure we would return. Thank you. BTW, I scored 4 stars instead of 5 purely because of the initial delay with the food. Jenny is a real credit to the store… one of the first people you meet as you walk. She listened and understood our brief and produced the most gorgeous arrangement. Thank you so much! I can honestly say I could not fault any part of today’s lunch. I visited with a group of friends. The service, food and overall experience was first class. Food arrived within 25 minutes of order, staff attentive and followed up. This venue is such a destination …the garden Centre side is well laid out and immaculate. The food hall looks something akin to Fortnam and Mason. Price point is surprising on certain items. A full chicken prepared and marinated within their Premises the same price as Marks & Spencer’s. Well done to the Weetons team and management. The staff training really shines through. Can’t wait to visit again. I have visited Weetons several times since its opening and found the overall experience very good. The quality of the food hall is outstanding and the various mini cafes are a welcome option to the main restaurant. However, when I sampled the main restaurant last week I was quite disappointed on a couple of issues : the greeting at the front desk by the manager was luke warm at best - he was clearly extremely stressed. The Sunday roast overall was good but the meat was quite cold in comparison with the rest of the meal. The ambiance was industrial ( by choice ) but it lacked warmth and character. In comparison to the rest of the resources on offer at Weston's I felt the main restaurant to be below par.
