There is a little donation box, but even that looks very old, so we weren't convinced that it was checked either. A fabulous layby though looking down on an amazing beach, brilliant for us in the camper. So worth the little pothole unmade road for the overnight stay. Absolutely lovely piece of artwork and a gorgeous location. Pristine bathrooms, outdoor shower and water tap. There are cosy picnic spots with tables for visitors to enjoy their outing. The local residents love their and welcome all visitors. Please respect their so that they don't clamp down on wild camping and overnight campervan stays. Leave no trace. This is one of the best beaches we have been too so far in Ireland across 4 counties and will definitely be back for a longer stay. The cottage's outer walls made entirely from sea shells. Splendid job made by one guy that took him years to finish. Still standing to this day without any damages. The stands on top of the cliffs and it's just a stone throw from the sea and beach. So after the visiting go for a walk in a beach. A special place to visit. Popped in for a short while after visiting Saltee island, only about 10km away It's just incredible the patience and dedication that went into designing and then placing the 50000 shells. The place on the outside seems restored after I had read there were some renovations recently. We never went inside but was amazed and glad we took a drive to see the cottage. Nice across the road with wonderful views up and down the coast Sweet little place, such a labour of love, reminds me of Scott's Grotto in Ware, and Margate Shell Grotto, but those were Victorian, this is far more contemporary, good to see the tradition continuing. Only had a €50 out the ATM, but would have liked to have left a donation. Beautiful little thatched covered in shells. Come at low tide as it's not a cafe or visitor centre, so after looking you can walk on the beach. It's only about 10m away. Beautiful a very different place to visit, ⛱️ is super sandy and the shell 🐚🐚🐚 is absolutely spectacular and mind blowing the amount of time this must have taken this man to complete well worth the drive 😁 but go when the sun 🌞 is shining I know I know that's a hard one 😂😂 Beautiful old shell at Cullenstown, just up from the beach.
