Spomenik je posvećen narodnom heroju Stevanu Filipoviću i partizanskim borcima valjevskog kraja. Uradio ga je srpski vajar Vojin Bakić po staroj fotografiji koja je zabeležila poslednje trenutke Filipovićevog govora pre vešanja 1942.godine. Prostor oko spomenika je lepo uređen kao spomen park i u isto vreme je i prelep vidikovac i mesto gde se valjevci rekreiraju. Stjepan Filipović (27 January 1916 – 22 May 1942) was a Yugoslav communist who led Kolubara Company of the Valjevo Partisan Detachment during the 1941 Partisan uprising. He was captured and executed in 1942 in Valjevo. The monument was made after a photo of him that was taken shortly before the execution. Stjepan is a symbol of resistance against fascism in the Second World War. He was proclaimed People's Hero of Yugoslavia in 1949. 👍 Very nice park.
