The campsite is situated in a stunningly beautiful location, perfect for fishing and using the boats free of charge. While the showers are available for free, they can be a bit cold. However, the toilet building and houses are kept immaculately clean. The owner is friendly and welcoming, which is one of the reasons why we've been coming here for over 5 years, along with the convenience of the ferry close by. We're definitely planning to return next year! Warning: NO WiFi Nice place to stay when you need to catch a Kristiansand ferry the next day. It's about a 30 minutes drive. Notes: - Showers and toilers were clean, but very dated. - Kitchen outside is fine, but no hot water there, only inside the building. Also, because it's outside, it's very weather dependant whether it's comfortable to sit and eat there as well. - I did not spoke to any owner, just deposited the NOK in a mailbox there. - See these and other photos for more information. Perfect stop if you have to take the ferry or are just about to start your journey into Norway! Very nice camping just 30 min drive from the ferry for a reasonable price (250 NOK for a + 2 adults). Freedom of coming when you want, and many options to pay. We arrived around 3 AM with a couple more cars as our ferry was delayed, found a spot for a and had a good sleep as it's far from the city and roads. The owner came to our around 10 AM and was very nice. I paid without leaving a and probably even without opening my eyes :) Didn't use boats as it was windy but they are there and for free. Checkout is 14:00 - perfect if you come in the night and want to sleep longer the next day. Excellent camp site, free use of canoes on the lake, clean showers and toilets, wish we could have stayed longer. For the price for a tent+car, good luck finding anything better in this part of Norway. Its nothing fancy, but got all you need and plenty of it. The fish are willing and tasty. We checked out the cabins, just for fun. Looks great, but we had a tent. 10/10, will come again.
