You can relax on the grass, and the kids can enjoy the water fountain. A cozy near the sea with plenty of benches and spots for a little picnic. I like the quite a lot. There is also a fountain where children can play in the water, it is quite shallow. Just wish there were more available places to buy a drink or some icecream closer to the park. En nydelig og barnevennlig midt i byen! Vi kom tilfeldig forbi på en varm sommerdag, og parken ble dagens høydepunkt. Barna badet med klærne på og lekte rundt i fontenene – helt trygt og fritt. Nupenparken is located downtown by the sea in Kristiansand. This area has improved a lot since we last visited some four years ago. The area apparently given over to nearby residents for gardening, growing vegetables and relaxing is excellent with its lovely bee and insect colony made from recycled materials much needed as insect populations plummet Europe wide. Well done the Parks Department. Great shame to see odd bits of litter and graffiti locally though, very untypical of Norway in our limited experience.
