Kristiansand Gjestehavn 01 & 02/2023 04/2022 Good place for relaxing, walk around (sorry don't come with a boat). At the time enough places for boats A relaxing place to stroll along, with tons of restaurants in the area. Beautiful and quiet place. Lots of grass for the kids to run around or just enjoy the sun. In full Summer kids can refresh in the water fountains. There is the marina where you can see the boats. It is a walking distance from main Kristiansands pedestrian & commercial street. It's also cheaper to park here. EXCELLENT! best on my long trip along the S, coast. helpful harbour staff, was v. busy. showers, no extra cost, clothes washing n tumble dryers 80k they were v. good. icecream bar, booze bar, clean. VV good. all shuts Monday. Good and mixed: Ice cream lady is helpful if no one else around but this Marina is largely unstaffed. Main way to book and get electricity is by the Marine Booking App, QR code is on every pedestal. Pedestals and showers each have a unique code which you put in the app. You buy electricity in advance and then use up your purchase level. Showers are bought in units of 1, which last long enough for good shower. The interior shower block is great, with laundry area. They are locked out of hours and I could not find out when exactly I think open about 8:30 am. There is one additional toilet and one additional shower outside for out of hours. The exterior marina is very rolly, so unless the sea outside is calm try for a berth inside the breakwaters. As no staff you have to go in to look, though. Town is lovely with many restaurants, cafes etc. Been there for one night and can't recommend it. There is a huge swell coming from the bay. There are also a lot of motorboats coming inside which do not respect the speed limit and they are producing even more swell. There is no app payment for foreigners. You have to call a number to get the code for the showers. This is written on a small paper in the window of the harbour office. There is only one(!) shower for the whole harbour and on additional toilet. If you need a place to relax after a long passage or before a passage you might want to think about alternatives. The connection to the bridge is dangerous as you can see from the pictures. Outside guest pontoon destroyed at 50% for the moment (maybe fixed for july). Not enough places. Totally open in the sea. Not protected form wind and waves. Just few places inside. Very expensive 340NOK until 45ft. Probably one the worst guest pontoon of all big towns of Norway. Don't go there if you can. Expensive, 445 kr for 33 ft boat, most expensive in our six weeks in Norway. Everything costs extra. Nice city but harbour not worth it. Payment machine not working, therefore you must download a clunky app to pay (according to staff "this is easier for you", and if you want electricity it is necessary (with extra cost)). The app is not Go marina, that many other places use. Staff not very helpful... Yeah there are better places to stop and wonderful anchorages nearby.
