It is just such a beautiful center. It was my first visit to Sweden so I don't know where to compare it from, but it felt so relaxed and lowkey. It's like you can hangout there and it just feels to relaxed and easy going. Cosy little oldtown! Beautiful with nice lake and old train station. An typical swedish little town, many wooden houses and little shop. We can recommend Ärta Pärta! Nora is a lovely with many things to see from eating fresh made ice cream to traveling with the steam train. Yesterday there was a choir arranging a sing-along on the square singing popular summer songs. Be it sun, wind or rain, there is always things to do and see in Nora! An amazingly cute little town! Beautiful all seasons of the year. There are a few restaurants, cafés and secondhand shops. The nature and buildings are stunning, and the rests peacefully by the lake. The local ice-cream is divine and to take a ride on the old fashioned train with a steam engine locomotive is a great experience in the summer! Even in winter the delivers. When the lake is frozen, you can go skiing, ice-skating or just walking across the ice. However, be aware that the opening hours of shops and cafés are somewhat limited, especially during low-season. Quite a cozy city I love Nora's lazy sunday afternoon feels. A pictoresque in the heart of Bergslagen, the old meets new on many levels, here you will find curiosity shops, loppis, at several street corners, cafés sprinkled here and there(summer season) with a gaping church and high steeple overlooking the square. Sure, businesses have closed down here but they seem to pop up in other places like the old industrial quarter of brickhouses called "bryggeriet" which translates the brewery. The lake is a stone's throw away, with a collection of old railway trains to boot, one converted into a summer restaurant and another a museum dedicated to the published crime author whose hey day was in the 1950s. Go to Nora for a day and find what keeps you abuzz for a summer's day.
