Regional History Museum of Sliven

The museum is located in a beautiful and well-renovated building in the style of the Austrians. It is set on three floors. The gatherings are not particularly rich, but they are good and they present the history of the region for thousands of years. (Visited August 2019) Interesting exhibits and quite informative.. but only for the period until ~ the Middle Ages - there was very little about modern history (not even talking about it being in English), which was a bit sad. The restrooms were a bit run down, but everything was working. Nevertheless, the staff was very friendly and I wish for the museum to develop further. Was worth it! There are 3 floors to visit and its deffinitely worth it to visit. The most unique item was the sword-gun of Hadzhi Dimitar. This one was amazing. Great museum right at the city center, many and interesting items as well as some insight to archeological restoration. The curator was very knowledgeable and kind. Strongly recommend it. We were given so much information. Learnt about a stone, with possibly the oldest written word ever found It is worrth visiting. The tour guide, Radost, is really friendly and knowledgable. Взехме комбиниран билет, който освен основната сграда на музея в центъра, включва къщата на Хаджи Димитър, къщата на Добри Чинтулов и музея на сливенския бит. И четирите обекта са много много интересни, чудесно поддържани и с прекрасни служители - усмихнати, знаещи и с ентусиазъм. Основната сграда на музея не е много голяма, представя археологически експонати от различни периоди от региона. Има какво да се види и научи.
