The area is also called the badlands. The landscape has been eroded over millions of years by the rain and man, forming this spectacular landscape. An extraordinary alien landscape where water erosion has carved gullies, columns and cliffs. There’s a great viewpoint looking down into the gullies and over to the lake. Beautiful area with lots of walking tracks and paths, although some are quite steep and a bit tricky. We walked around halfway to the lake from the Mirador then the next day took a quad bike tour from La Mariposa which was excellent 👌 Amazing place. Absolutely worth visiting Fantastic view over the cyan coloured lake(s). "Off piste" was fun and exciting, but can be bit of a challenge. Remember your hiking shoes. Wonderful place. Picturesque! You have to follow a narrow track for quite a while and you could think you're going the wrong way, but eventually you come to a parking area and this amazing view! A must-see in the Murcia region! We visited this area via Espuna Adventure on a very gentle quad bike tour, these tours as described by the tour guide are a gentle nature ramble on wheels. Absolutely stunning albeit the water was very low due to the drought, the guide rescued some walkers who had walked to the lake without enough water, this added to our true appreciation of this stunning area.
