There was also a very lovely and private area for outside dining. This was our second time to Cafe Vlissinghe and it did not disappoint. We loved this old pub. So much we ate here twice. Food is lovely, nothing fancy but really nice nonetheless. garden is also a place to while away the time. too. Lovely homely pub to visit. Vlissinghe is a very warm and bar. We came about 5:00 pm and almost every seat was taken. The kindly asked people to move a bit on the big table so we could fit in. Much appreciated as the is fantastic. There is an annex but there was no one in there and we wanted a lively atmosphere. The loved both Trappist beers we ordered. We enjoyed chatting with a British couple at the table with us. Just a vibe and definitely worth the short walk from the city center. Can say hi to Jan van Eyck’s statue on the way :-) And I have never seen a bar of soap like this…so interesting sudsing up! Not the best food I had. But very nice atmosphere - food was disappointing. I got onion soup and the bread with cheese came cold and the cheese already hard. Not great. - prices are ok - very very nice though. - toilet available, public parking It’s incredible that they have been serving in the same location for 510 years. The is wonderful. It’s not always open, so you should check the opening hours before you come. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Open Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00, and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 to 21:00. The and meatballs were delicious. The food is really good, and the is incredibly friendly. This restaurant was one of the best places that we went to to eat when we were away from our cruise ship. We found the restaurant via a travel app that referenced it as the pub in Bruges. They claim to be the pub in the world. We sat on chairs in the pub that were over 500 years old. It is a beautiful pub. We had some traditional foods and they were absolutely delicious. The building is charming and well taken care of, specially the garden. I was there in a sunny day, which was perfect to enjoy the outside area, but still a bit cold so the onion soup was just on point. The food portion is somewhat small but tasty. The pub in Bruges is really a remarkable place. were extremely and attentive, and the house was delicious. We didn't order food, but plenty of tables did, and it looked delicious. The is helpful and always smiling! Would recommend!! This a charming “off the beaten path” restaurant built in the 1500’s. It is small and cozy. The food was excellent. Try the onion soup and Flemish stew. The was very attentive and Freddy the watchdog is entertaining sitting in his little keeping an eye on things and greeting guests when they enter.
