Lots of fun with animals. We are there for our sons birthday so my enjoyed lot. All had a free milkshake made out of their cows milk. And we buy some free range fresh eggs and fresh and honey. Excellent place for a day out for the and alike. Our first visit here for a Bday party and it was superb. Wide range of and more. Lots of opportunity to handle and pet the too. Lots of the animal area enclosures are under cover too so decent even if the weather is bad. Lots of outdoor play areas for the kids. The donkey rides were very exciting for the too. And lots of different areas to grab a bite on the go or sit and enjoy some food. Lots of parking areas too. All in all an excellent place to spend half a day or so at least. Keep up the good work and the environment. Well what a wonderful day, truly enjoyed it here, it’s been amazing day and the weather has been reasonable for March. Loved the of petting some that usually wouldn’t be able to, very much a sensory place for people with Autism. Now although I have given a 5 star rating as I love it here, it’s not very disabled friendly, meaning missing ramps and uneven ground are very uneven in places (unless your in a WC You wouldn’t notice) best of luck with the business would be amazing to work with you and help you with your business marketing. Been here during half term with my family and has been a day out! The place is huge and full of different species of but really well organised. There are courses going on few times a day to watch and get to know some reptiles amd to pet few beautiful babies, from rabbits to lamas, chickens, alpacas etc. Then for few pounds there is the chance to have a ride on tractor(not really worth it to me, and on donkeys. You got the chance to feed and pet the calves too, which are so big but so sweet.. There are free eating aereas, planty playgrounds, few snack and souvenirs shops and a cafe which serve amazing homemade Desserts. If you get the chance try the icecream too,it deserved. Before to leave don t forget to buy some diary items at the shop outside! We visited Smithills Open during the school holidays with the kids, and it was such a fantastic day out! The highlight was seeing the full process of how cows are milked and how the is stored — really fascinating and educational. The children loved getting hands-on, feeding the cows and other animals, and learning more about life. There are so many activities for kids, and it’s a balance of fun and education. The staff were and made the engaging for both children and adults. Overall, a brilliant day out for families — highly recommend! We visited Smithy Open last month as a family, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The is well-kept and full of charm, and the are all very gentle and — perfect for children to interact with. From calves and lambs to many other animals, you can really enjoy close-up encounters and even watch the process of production, which was fascinating to see. There are plenty of activities for children and families, and feeding the is made easy with affordable feed available on-site. It’s both fun and educational, giving the chance to life in an authentic and enjoyable way. One of the highlights for us was trying the farm’s own freshly made yogurt — it was absolutely delicious and highly recommended! Overall, it’s a fantastic place for a family day out, especially with young children. Warm atmosphere, well-cared-for animals, and plenty to see and do — we’ll definitely be coming back again. They have quite a good selection of animals, but mostly for children. The milkshake that they provide in the car park entrance area is nice, and it's worth to try the ice cream. However, the price is expensive for the amount of things to do. Compared to other open offerings that we have been to, there wasn't as much to do with a higher cost. The tractor rides cost extra, which should be included in the entrance price. You can definitely finish everything within 2 hours. The open around Manchester City is so fun (play & photo strategy) 30 minutes' drive from Manchester City, 1 hour by bus from the open farm You can touch chicks, rabbits, lambs, calves, alpacas...!! You can also buy milk, eggs, butter... ❶[Online ticket purchase] Adults £13.5 | 2-16 years old £11.5 | 2 years old free There are also family packages, etc. I chose to enter at 10 o'clock. The card is not strict. Tickets include: admission, feeding, a glass of tasting ❷Play order 1. The first intersection on the left of the ticket inspection is the restaurant 🍔 The entrance and exit are the same weather. I really need a big hamburger to replenish my energy after playing. 2. The shed is full of cute calves 🐮 Let your nose get used to the pet's smell first. 3. Go up the slope forward and enter the super-shelp Inside, there are big cows, horses, alpacas, sheep and so on. The production line of food can be seen through the glass.🥛🧀🍦 4. Pets Corner The little sister is holding the little wool of various varieties for us. Really, each kind of wool has a very different feel. The daily activity schedule is shown in Figure 2. 5. After playing with the little animals, there is a washbasin on the left. It's hot water! Chickens and rabbits can't be in the same cage, because chickens will have diarrhoea. 6. If you continue to move forward, you will see the cattle and sheep outdoors and you can still see them fighting. They are very smart. When people come, they know that there is food on the roadside. 7. You can see the donkey rides after returning. You can buy a ticket and riding a donkey at the same time. 8. After coming out for dinner, we went to buy and eggs. I like to go to the to buy an ecological feeling. Eggs 🥚 2 (6 pieces) Milk 🥛 2.6 (whole /semi-skimmed) Butter 🧈 2.75 (salted/unsalted/garlic) A day out for young and old alike. The staff were exceptionally helpful and and all the seem well looked after. You must have one of their delicious ice creams too 🍨 I visited Smithills Open on Easter Sunday, and although it was extremely busy, it was still a experience. The is very family-friendly, with plenty to do—you can easily spend a couple of hours there exploring. There’s a wide range of to see and interact with, and they also offer donkey and tractor rides for an additional cost. These were really popular, so expect a bit of a queue, especially on busy days. Booking is online only, which helps manage entry but doesn’t necessarily ease the crowds on public holidays. Throughout the day, there are several pet shows which are fun for both and adults. Each paying visitor gets a feed bag to interact with the animals, which adds to the hands-on experience. The is well-staffed and really well maintained. There are multiple cafés and ice huts dotted around the site for when you need a break or a sweet treat. Near the entrance, there’s a shop that sells their own fresh flavoured milks, regular milk, cheesecakes, butter, and local honey—all farm-produced and worth checking out. I’ll definitely be visiting again, though probably not on a public holiday next time—it was packed! That said, it’s a brilliant day out for families and animal lovers alike. Brilliant for the whole family. Good fun and lots of variety in animals. Donkey rides and tractor rides. All flavours of iced and just a really good day out. My son loved it. I did take more pictures but had my child in them so not been uploaded. The owl was beautiful interaction with animals. Plenty to do around the fields etc. pumpkin patch and fancy dress. A bit pricey for a farm, but wouldn't down grade it for that. Plenty of staff. Plenty of information. Plenty going on. All day trip really. Plus ice and milkshakes. Wonderful experience! We had the opportunity to visit this lovely today, and we enjoyed every moment. Spending with various in such a natural environment was truly peaceful. We got fresh and tasted the ice made from it it was absolutely delicious! The staff were very kind and welcoming, always answering our questions with a smile. Chose to have our daughters 7th birthday party here and it was absolutely incredible. 21 of her friends, plus some added siblings who can book online and join in the fun, free. amazing little touches to make her feel super special. Everyone who came had an amazing day!!! Animal petting. Tractor ride. Donkey ride. food spread. Honestly cannot recommend enough! Love this place, but if something for all of us. Getting so close to the cows isn't something from the city get to do that often and it's great. Staff seem to love their jobs and It does make it extra enjoyable. Some of the other local farms are good for an hour or two but we regularly spend 4-5 hours here We are tourists visiting the area, and we had a wonderful at Smithills Open Farm! The atmosphere was fantastic, and everyone was so kind and friendly. A special mention goes to the gentleman driving the tractor ride – he was incredibly cheerful and friendly, and made the even more fun. There are many different to see, and lots of fun activities for both and adults. We took part in several of the attractions and enjoyed every minute of it. The only thing we didn’t like was seeing the owls kept in very small cages, and the calves separated from their mothers, which made us a bit sad. We also noticed a sense of sadness in the eyes of the cows being milked, which was quite touching. Additionally, we believe that very young children should not be allowed to hold the on their own. It would be better if they could simply touch them gently under the supervision of a staff member, as small children often don’t yet have the awareness to handle carefully, and may unintentionally cause them harm. We highly recommend this place to families and tourists – it’s a day out! We’re visiting my sister from London and it was the first here. Even though it was a very cold and rainy day, my son had a lovely in the farm. I would definitely recommend. Worth visiting!!! Absolutely fantastic day out and well worth the travel if you don't live close. So much to do, very kid and adult friendly, tons of space to sit and eat a picnic if you don't want to buy food there. Very easy to get around with a pram or wheelchair with very accessible toilets and cleaning stations 🐮 best place to visit as solo or as family It was good to feed cattles and to pamper them.kids were so excited . Cattle will come to as when they see as with cattle food😊 Place has got a nice cafeteria. Had a perfect day out jus myself and was a wonderful We go every year for pumkin picking, the petting farm, tractor ride and ice cream. Very enjoyable, professional service, very efficient and friendly. value for money there's usually 10+ of us. It was pouring with rain and everyone still had a time. Its a must visit for and of all ages. X We were expecting to only spend about 40 mins there but left 2 hours later!! little family day out. Got to feed the animals(have to buy animal feed £1. You’d only need one bag). Ended the day with some really tasty ice cream. Note that the petting corner are at certain times so make sure you check first before going around to see the animals If you want to make it to that. What an incredible day we had! This place is truly breathtaking, offering an unforgettable for both and adults. The facilities are top-notch, featuring expansive outdoor spaces and an impressive variety of animal species. The best part? You can pet and interact with most of them, and many are surprisingly eager for some affection. My heart was filled with so much joy and love! The ice and produced right on-site are absolutely delicious—I’ve already signed up for weekly deliveries! I can’t wait to visit again. ♥️ Every single member of staff we encountered made this day super special! They were so warm and welcoming, all made an effort to educate us on the and help us to get as much from the as possible. We loved it! P.s we’re still dreaming about the ice cream! We brought our 9 month old granddaughter for her first visit to a and we all absolutely loved it. Even for a baby there is so much to do. She was obsessed with the mini horses and the donkeys ❤️ She was fighting sleep at the end so we couldn't go to meet the but we certainly will be doing on our next visit.
