I had a beautiful morning exploring the at Tatton Park. It’s free for RHS members. But be warned that you need to pay £10 to the car regardless of whether you any of the attractions. There’s toilets in the courtyard alongside a garden shop, cafe, gift shop, and bookshop. The were looking great as we venture into autumn. Lovely day out. This is one of the best places I have been. There is so much to see and do. For NT members the house and are free and they are really worth the visit. The house is jusy incredible and takes about an hour to go around. The are just as impressive. We will definitely be going back again. Parking is about £9 for the day regardless if you are a NT member or not as it is owned by the council. Some rich history as part of this estate. to see and do but most things are charged extra. The is good to and have activities taking place every 30 minutes. The circus was fun and the maze grown with Maize was good. There is a charge for parking and there are of spaces. Play area is quite big. Great national trust park. to do and see from the to the farm. Always seasonal events on. Cafe gets busy and isn't overloaded with seats so be prepared for a wait. Amazing Christmas decorations, really enjoyed the fact every room was a different book, from A Christmas Carol to the Snow Queen, wonderful, all done with such great care and a lot of hard work. All the volunteers were very friendly and helpful, some were dressed in their characters. The house it's self is a lovely place, lots of history and kept to a high standard. The grounds are also well kept, enjoyed our walk round the too, which are very nice. There is an Italian garden, a Japanese one, a rose garden,kitchen gardens, obviously wrong time of year to really get the best of them, but all the same very nice. I would love to go back in the Spring and Summer to see them. There are amenities here, a cafe/restaurant, lots of toilets, baby changing and disabled toilets. There is a gift shop and garden shop. There was a very good Christmas Market on while we were there. And a good light show, small fair attractions and of food and drink vendors. The deer was a highlight—seeing the herds roaming freely in such a natural setting was a unique experience. The were equally impressive, especially the Japanese Garden, which was peaceful and beautifully designed. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and there was a great café offering delicious food and drinks. The was also a lovely addition, especially for families with young children. What a lovely park, no stags in view this time which was odd, lots of sheep though. We walked the full circuit of the lake which is approximately 2 hours walk, and easy though. Overall, it’s an atmospheric destination perfect for families, history enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike. We visited Tatton over the Easter weekend with a ‘Totally Tatton Ticket’. While the itself is spacious and offers a lot to see, the ticket pricing felt a bit steep—especially considering that once your ticket is scanned for a specific area, you can’t re-enter it, so make sure to explore each area thoroughly before moving on. We started at the farm, which was in the middle of lambing season—plenty of adorable newborn lambs around! Be aware that the little train transporting visitors from the car to the isn’t free—honestly, it’s a short and scenic walk that gives you a better look at the pastures and sheep anyway. The itself was just okay. There weren’t many animals during our visit—just a handful of donkeys, pigs, goats, and geese, and I was hoping to see some cattle, especially with the focus on Angus cows in the area. It may vary by season since it’s a working farm. Next, we explored the mansion, which was grand and full of character. There’s a one-way system, but it got a bit confusing at times as we doubled back through certain areas. There was also an Easter chick hunt going on—fun for kids, though it did detract a little from the atmosphere seeing bright plush toys in the middle of stately rooms. The were beautiful—spring bloom in full swing. Lots of families were enjoying the day, though unfortunately, some were climbing trees and showing little respect for the surroundings. It’s a shame, but understandable, that areas like the Japanese garden are now cordoned off. Another Easter-themed activity was running in the (Mr. Men characters), which again is great for kids but somewhat takes away from the natural aesthetic. Overall, a good day out with to see and do—especially for families. While the pricing could be more competitive, it’s still more affordable than some other stately homes. Just make sure to get the most out of each area before moving on! Been here several times over the years. are large and very well kept. The grounds are extensive. Well worth a visit. The car is a bit of an issue for customers with National Trust memberships. The grounds are owned by the NT but managed by the council, so you have to pay £10 to (or £5 for blue badge holders) even with NT membership. I would hope that the NT would've came to an agreement before leasing it to the council in respect of inclusive access to members. The house inside is very well kept and has a number of rooms kitted out with small exhibitions and wartime collections. Sadly on the day we visited, the staff said they were too busy to operate the accessible lift so we were unable to see the upper floors due to accessibility issues, although they did allow flat access to the ground floor through a ramp at the rear of property. There are many sheep and deer around the which also mean many 💩 on the grass. I stayed a great distance away to not disturb the deers as they are wild and the pictures taken where zoomed in. A lovely day out albeit a little pricey - after paying car parking we wanted to the mansion and - each of these areas requires a separate ticket so we were told the Totally Tatton ticket would be the best value for money at around £20 per person - this allows a combined entrance into any of the areas three times - so we used two of the three when we visited the mansion and gardens. Both the mansion and are spectacular - especially the at the back of the house which you can only with your ticket. If you go to Tatton and don’t buy a ticket for the mansion or there’s not that much to see from what I gathered. The children’s playground is free to enter as it’s just off the carpark. Would I recommend it? yes - especially the gardens. This is a great day out and a beautiful setting. But it is not cheap, and the pricing is messy. We are national trust members, but you still have to pay car parking £10, the garden is included, but the isn’t, that’s another £10 each. Just a bit weird and clunky. The merry go round as you walk in is £4 each, that’s for me being on it to hold my child, and the cafe is of course extortionate. However the grounds are lovely, and the bear hunt was very well done. If your not the one paying (my daughter) you’ll have a great day 😂 Tatton is one of my all time favourite parks. The gorgeous wildlife- especially deer is enchanting to see. They often have events on so handy to check. They have deer wandering about the grounds, sheep and other animals enclosed. Would recommend 100%. We came here for a walk and a picnic on a Saturday. There was of parking available at the Rostherne gate and it was only £10 for the whole day. Walking around the grounds was completely free (we didn’t go to any of the paid for areas) and the views were stunning all the way around. Since the is so big, even on a Saturday it didn’t feel busy and there were often times we couldn’t see anyone else around which was nice. The are great at Tatton to explore! Through October there is skeleton's in wellies where you have to find 10 different skeleton's and write down the letter at each one and figure out the word. There's paths that go off the main paths to explore. Just outside the there are a couple of shops and tables to sit at. It's also free for national trust members but you do have to pay £9 for the car but is worth it to see the wildlife. Near the car there is a playground and a food truck. 10/10! Had such an incredible time here, the japanese were really a break from reality. Although some of the are still being planted, some of the flowers are already blooming (in case someone is wondering if they are). We managed to see some of the deers by the lake. Recommend going earlier in the morning as it was diffocult to order an uber out of the place after 4pm. Tatton is so lovely! It's a massive park, with many areas and you can easily spend your afternoon here just walking around, having a coffee or ice cream. Everything looked amazing and it was really peaceful – perfect for a relaxed wander. The Japanese garden was definitely my favourite part, really calming and just beautiful. There were loads of cute ducks around too which made it even better. Watching them swim about was really fun. Plenty of places to sit down if you want a break, which was nice. Only thing is the map doesn’t totally match the actual paths, so we ended up a bit lost trying to find certain spots. But if you're not on a mission and just want to explore, it’s totally fine. While we didn’t have an American car ourselves, we still had an amazing time soaking up the atmosphere. We stayed at Blakemere Touring again, about a 20-minute drive from Tatton, as we knew it would give us peace and quiet after a busy day exploring. 🚗 The – An American Car Lover’s Dream Tatton was buzzing with classic American cars. From Cadillacs and Chevrolets to a whole range of Mustangs and Corvettes, there was something for everyone who appreciates a well-maintained piece of automotive history. The had a relaxed vibe, with live music setting the tone, and an array of American food stalls offering classic favourites like burgers, hot dogs, and milkshakes. The showground was lined with in immaculate condition, many of which had travelled from all over the country to be part of the event. The owners were incredibly passionate and happy to chat about the history behind their vehicles, offering insights into restoration projects and the technical specs of each model. As a motoring journalist, I couldn’t help but admire the craftsmanship and the attention to detail that went into some of these cars. 👨‍👩‍👦 Family Fun – A Perfect Day Out While the was an absolute treat for me, it was also fantastic for my son. Will was fascinated by the cars. He got to sit in a few of the models (with the owners’ permission, of course) and even pretended to steer some of the muscle cars. He was absolutely thrilled by the vintage cars—especially the ones with brightly coloured paint jobs and loud engines! Beyond the cars, the offered a market area that was a hit with him. He picked up a couple of toy cars, and probably indulged a bit too much in sweets from the stalls. There were also a few fun attractions like the vintage fairground rides, which gave us a chance to take a break from walking around. The had a very family-friendly atmosphere, with to keep the little ones entertained while still being enjoyable for adults who appreciate the and the overall vibe. There were also a few places to sit and relax with some refreshing drinks and snacks if we needed a breather. 🏕️ Staying at Blakemere – A Perfect Base We’ve stayed at Blakemere Touring before, so we knew it would be the ideal spot for us. It’s just a short drive to Tatton Park, and the site is always well-maintained. The Euro-spec pitch was spacious and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including electric hook-ups and waste disposal. After a full day at the event, we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of the park. There’s always something about coming back to a quiet spot like Blakemere, especially when it’s just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the main event. Highly recommended Came with my mum and kids as a last minute day out and wasn't disappointed! We spent hours here and still didn't see everything (the kids were tired as is it so big). The were the best bit, very pretty and lots to see. The was a bit lacking to be honest, luckily my kids love chickens and they were free roaming everywhere so it was okay. I feel the staffs put safety first and did close down lots of attractions but the itself exudes natural beauty and the cafe is open so it’s well worth a visit.
