If you want to Slovakian caves, dont miss out this one. Be prepared for approx 30 min walk up the hill to reach the entrance. Lovely to visit. It’s a bit of a up the hill (around 40 minutes). Admission for adults was 7 euro. Check in advance what time the tours are planned and ask the guide for a English explanation. The paper with the English explanation is too limited and not clear. Our guide did a great job. Beautiful cave, great tour, small to enter the as well as in itself (1042 stairs), definitely place to visit. The is stunning, beautiful and breathtaking. You can get there by a 45 mins walk up to the top of a mountain. Navigation apps may not always indicate the parking lot correctly. Search for and enter "Reštaurácia Čierna ovca" (restaurant "Black sheep"). The route to the begins right at this restaurant. Parking is free. Harmanecka made an even bigger impression on me than Ice or Liberty Cave. It took about 40 minutes to climb the path to the top, but it is definitely worth a visit. Please note that officially you can enter the if there are at least 4 people, but they are flexible enough in this matter and let the two of us through the without any additional charge. This is a fantastic to visit, exemplary of what Slovakia has to offer. We particularly like the up to the cave, as it makes it possible to spend a nice half-day visiting. Be aware though--it is a through the woods, and uphill, so be prepared for that. Definitely dress in layers bc you'll have a workout up and then the is chilly. There are tables at the top to picnic and gorgeous views. As only a certain number of people are allowed on each tour, it's wise to buy tickets ahead of time, that way you don't end up waiting for the next tour. If you want to take photos, you'll have to pay for a separate photography pass, which is definitely worth it. The guides are knowledgeable and patient. It's an awesome experience! Great place, yet be aware that it takes time and quite effort to elevate from parking lot! Aproximately 30 minutes. Great experience and really close to Banska Bystrica. The guide was very good and we were given printed pamphlets in English to follow along with the Slovak guided tour. Tickets are cheap if you don’t want to pay the extra cost to take photos. It’s a 40-50 minute up to the entrance where there is a small lodge with a café inside. The is very nice and has information panels about the local nature. Only thing is you have to plan your day around one of the four possible times. Highly recommend visiting. Not accessible if you have physical disabilities. Amazing place to visit. It takes about 40 minutes to get up there from parking lot. Which makes experience even more special. My first time in Slovakia and it was made all the more special by customer service I received. I was feeling slightly ill on the walk up and purchased a ticket to the tour. A short while after waiting for our slot on the tour, my illness worsened and felt I was no longer able to do the tour. I spoke to customer service and as I paid with card he was not aware of any way to refund me. I asked a few people around if they wanted my ticket but as my Slovakian is no good nobody wanted it. After walking down the rough and steep path for 15 minutes I heard running behind me and the customer service man had run down with a card machine and was able to give me a refund. I was shocked, we do not experience this in the UK. This gesture touched my heart. Thank you very much for taking pity on me. I absolutely loved my first time in Slovakia and will certainly be back to see the caves.
