Everything is well organized and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended! The was no doubt gorgeous, but the organization of the whole thing is just a cold business with rude servants. When you decide to go down, you will have to stand in line for half an hour. Then, without warning, an old frustrated employee will push you back with his hands, making it clear that something is wrong. It turns out you needed to get a return ticket, and now you have to wait in line again, this time for about two hours. And for this, you’ll pay 80 euros per person. It is a unique experience since this is the only open car. However, if you have plan for dinner, then check the returning/ last departure time since it is not consistent to what they post. It is nice either go on a cloudy day or clear sky since you will have a bit of different experience. Different from mt Pilatus. It is kinda pricy, I payed around 40chf only for the way up. I arrived at 12 noon and had no wait and no reserved ticket. The funicular ride from Stans to the Cabrio car valley station, which is included, is also very nice and nostalgic. The Cabrio car is big and spacious. It is a very popular attraction though, even on weekdays, there were a lot of people. Inside the car it might get packed (though not as bad as on Titlis). If you want a spot on the top deck with a view, I'd suggest sitting on the very top left in the funicular, so you get to the car the first. On my journey it was kinda cloudy, with the station being fully covered in clouds. Keep in mind that the weather is unpredictable there, and not always blue sky. On the top, you have lots of picnic spots, restaurants and hiking trails. For me it was definitely worth it. We bought tickets in advance, it did not seem to matter because there are so many people you end up waiting in line anyway past your ticketed time. This seems to be popular with tour groups and big buses of people delay other entry. The views from the car are stunning. From the top of Stanserhorn there are great views, some hikes, and marmots. The restaurant is self service and has a rotating platform in the center. When you make it to the top you must get your return ticket down at a specific time of your own choosing. This was far better timed than the way up. Great of the Swiss Alps up above the clouds in November. No crowds or waiting. We used the Tell Pass to do both Pilatus and Stanserhorn in the same day. Our kids loved playing in the fresh powder snow while we enjoyed the warmth of the afternoon sunshine. It’s one of the best experience I’ve ever had. A funicular takes you part way up the to the car station for the ride to the top of the mountain. Listen for the sound of cow bells as the breeze flows through you hair and the sun warms your face. I’m afraid of heights but I went just on top to at least have a better but went inside after, you can still enjoy the anyway. What a beautiful ride!
