Museum also shows the development of the shipbuilding paper and starch industries through to modern times. When we visited there was also an art exhibition of the current 'Groninger Ploeg' or Society of artists with some stunning works. Was a lovely day out. Museum has a well catered café as well. The layout is beautiful and immersive and there is plenty information given about the topics (which are many, like 'veen,' shipping, local industries, clothing styles, etc.). I only wished there was a bit more in-depth information (like the chemical consistency of 'turf') about some topics. Overal highly recommended!
