Nice little place by the water. There is also a public toilet, free parking and you can go on walking further through the forest. Interestinc restauration of an old railroad that shows the nature of eastern jutland from it best. A true gem for going on a picnic with loads of benches and spots for enjoying the deep forrest or beautiful riverbed of the gudenå reopened estuary. Very interesting piece of history and a great place for a nice walk. Clean toilets nearby to boot! Really nice spot for a sunny afternoon trip. Old steel uncovered in 2014 and made to a local attraction. Toilets, small bbq pit, tables and benches. Lovely preserved in an amazing condition. It’s easily accessible and only a short walk from a free car park. The place was not overcrowded when I visited, and it’s possible to take pictures from both sides of the bridge. It has an almost mesmerizing effect to lean over the railing and just stare at the moving water. I can recommend to visit this place. Maybe combine it with the ‘Himmelbjerget’ (sky mountain) close by. ♿ Entrance = Yes (outdoors) ♿ Parking = Yes ♿ Building = Yes (toilet maybe no) ♿ Elevator = No elevator, it has gravel and dirt path. This is a relaxing piece of nature that you shouldn't miss if you have the chance to visit. I will recommend to go here on a warm day to make the trip worthwhile. There's a free parking lot and accessible for wheelchair users. That being said though, the dirt road could make it challenging if it's soft but it's possible to go all the way down. There is a shortcut with gravel but I wouldn't advise it if you ain't a (good) walker. You can go on the top of the and have a nice view over the water or to the side of it at the lower area. There are some picnic tables and restrooms, a board with a map on it and some other sign boards. This may only be in danish and not in a different language. If I'm not mistaken, the story behind the bridge. That this was used for trains back in the days but after awhile the railroad was closed for about 50 years. The was found and restored and is now used for people. The kids loved going there this winter with snowy trails through the woods. This used to be a railroad bridge. When the railway closed, the was abandoned and forgotten all about. 85 years later it was found again covered in soil used to fill up the valley. Now the and valley are restored as points of interest. Situated in beautiful surroundings with hiking trails, plenty of benches, restrooms. Enjoy your picnic here by the chuckling Gudenå running under the bridge. Parking possible about 300m from the bridge. Follow the paved trail there . Also visit the old hydroelectric plant Vestbirk Vandkraftværk which is quite close. Not much to see, but it's a pretty spot where you can enjoy a picnic, cross the water on foot, simply just enjoy the view :) and if you are feeling venturious there is a forest right next to it which can be explored. Beautiful place, good weather, quiet. I like it here. Nice calm place. Easy accesible. The weather were nice and hot that ment we where able to cross the go under it and wade thru the river back to where we started. We could of cause have gon back over the bridge, but thought it would be a nice cooling experience, which it was.
