It's a great place to see some of the vast that happened in these parts of the world. Although it's a bit difficult to find and the directions are too clear. The was super knowledgeable and interesting, even though he was a high schooler, he answered our questions and told us a lot of info about the old city of Viminacium. The English speaking is pretty great, the itself is a bit barebones though, but still worth it Stunning evidence to see. Walk-in tunnel underground was so intense to experience, like literally being part of Roman history. Our Nebojša was amazing, so dedicated, informed, prepared and spoke so well. Visited the ancient mamouth too. Tips: you can’t the grounds on your own, you need a to take you from point to point. It all takes less than an hour, but bring sunscreens and hats if going during summer, it can be really hot. Also try to skip the mid day cause sun is insane in the field. Bathrooms are available right next to ticket center, you can’t drink water there, it’s not sanitized for drinking! Bring your own water or buy at the cafe at ticket center. Also skip the tunnel if you’re having problems with walking of any kind or you’re scared of tight places. You can buy tickets when you arrive, credit cards accepted. We were here with a and we really liked it here. We also saw archaeologists actually working and excavating the pit in search of history! It was exciting. The tours start at every hour and the was very nice to translate in English for people who didn’t speak Serbian. The prices are very low, affordable and on the premises you can find a restaurant, toilet, souvenir shop, an adventure park and many areas to visit. I think we will come back after some years because we would like to see how much more was discovered in the meantime. An amazing historical that should not be missed. Still in the early phases of discovery and excavation, visitable sites are still limited (especially today, as some that were previously open were closed, like the museum and Mammoth Park), but it was still exciting to see what progress has been made, and we will return next year, when more exhibition spaces become available to the public. Although limited, we were glad to support the continued excavation of the with our entrance fee. The is huge, and the work to be done is not fast nor cheap to accomplish. One thing must be mentioned about today's visit: the extremely RUDE and SELFISH behavior of a lecturer (Ljubomir Jevtović) and his group. His group was supposed to be finished with the area when our began at 11am. Upon seeing they were still occupying the space, first we were delayed, then our attempted to lead us down to start our ahead of them, but the lecturer made a fuss, and insisted we BACK OUT and BACK UP THE STAIRS OF THE AREA, and let his group go ahead of us. Since he loved the sound of his voice so dearly, this meant that we were waiting for an eternity (OVER 30 MINUTES!) as he repeated his stories to groups of 2 or 3 underground, when our group could have quickly passed through, and then he could have taken all the time he needed. The entire incident was ridiculous, we were CROUCHED in a LOW CEILING underground tunnel waiting for him to repeat things over and over again, and due to the claustrophobic circumstances, most of us skipped seeing the underground sites he was selfishly hoarding. A pity, not knowing how little there was to see after this point! As a PROFESSIONAL GEOLOGIST, who has worked extensively both in the field and in academia, I was disgusted by this behavior. This lecturer is the exact example of someone who gives those in academia a bad name. His arrogance, lack of awareness, and on top of that, his flirting with a couple of the participants (did he think he was Indiana Jones?!) was appalling. Our was very apologetic, and we understand it was not his fault (thank you, Alexander!). In the future, please do not let these groups act as if they are more important and do not let them bully their way into interfering with the experience of others. Extremely disappointed at the uncaring negative impact of this egomaniac to our tour. That being said, I look forward to returning and having a better experience next year. Really beautiful place about Roman history. The underground tunnel was so interesting! I recommend the place. In the middle of nowhere it is an interesting location. I give 4 stars because right now I can see that our was shorter than others. I’ve visited it twice. First time with my family and second time I was showing the place to my friend. I recommend you to do the same thing, if your friend/s is/are visiting Serbia definitely bring them here. Or if you’re visiting Serbia come and learn about Rome culture in Serbia. They have nice guides who will tell you story about this ancient city and if you’re interested you can always ask more questions. You will learn about long gone people, culture and city which disappeared in flame. You should definitely come by car because you’ll need it to go from one place to another. We visited as part of a project called Dancing Histories, where the archaeological came alive through contemporary dance and poems written by local authors.
