It is on grass right beside the water, with sandy beaches. All the staff are lovely. The showers (10 NKR coin for five minutes) are spotlessly and gush hot water. There is a cooking and washing up area - also - with bookshelves for a rainy day. The snackbar is a bonus; the chips are too tempting. Although we didn't take the Hirtshal ferry it is conveniently close by. Top Tip: It is worth booking ahead, especially during the Crazy Season. When the camping site is full folk do get turned away. That can be unfortunate for them but it does prevent over crowding - something that we have experienced elswhere and which can be uncomfortable. We arrived after heavy rain so our pitch was water logged, we had to park at an angle otherwise we were in massive puddles which which was frowned upon. Basic site but and quite expensive. My shower only lasted 3 minutes rather than the promised 5. Take away food was good and delivered to our van which was appreciated. WiFi signal very poor. We camped here and the price $200NOK was very cheap. The facilities where very clean. You paid $10 NOK for 5min shower which was more than enough time. Very friendly caretaker. Right near the beach and walking trail. We came here for one night because in the morning we had to take the ferry to Denmark. The venue is amazing, this is a perfect spot to spend your summer. If you travel with teens then they will love the beach and the platform they can jump from into the water. The owner is really kind and will do everything to make your stay perfect.The toilets were super clean. We stayed in a cabin with 2 people, this was perfect for a rainy day. We made no reservation but it was september. We were here mid-September and camped the first night with our tent. The bay is really lovely and the owner is a very nice man. Although the bathrooms are not the newest, everything is tidy and clean. After a heavy rain fall on the second day, the owner came to us and offered us a cabin for no additional fee! 👍 Staff directs guests to place their tents/cars/campers very close to each other. We arrived early and pitched a tent in a nearly empty field. Left for a few hours, found a car parked 2 m on either side of our tent. In the morning our tent was filled with exhaust when the car drove away. Everyone left very early to make the 8am ferry, making noise from 5:30. Probably a great place if you have a camper and need to take the early boat from Larvik, but not recommended for tenting. The beach was nice, you can walk a bit over the smooth granite and look out over the bay. Suggestion for staff: ensure 4 m spacing between tents/vehicles is observed, for the sake of comfort, privacy, and fire safety. My fiancé and I stayed at this camping for a couple of days on our bike trip through Norway. The camping owners were incredibly friendly, welcoming and caring! Also the area is very picturesque for swimming, fishing and simply enjoying the nature!
