Still, it was a very pleasant walk, with the cooler air and quieter atmosphere making it relaxing to explore this riverside town. 🧭 Tip: Come in the early morning or late afternoon to enjoy the streets with fewer crowds. You will spend there great time visiting it. Stunning and worth the visit. We ambled around as a family drinking in all the incredible murals on the buildings. We also visited the former monastery, took a paddle in the river, and enjoyed their incredible toy shop. We could have easily spent some more time in this beautiful town, though our toddler had had enough after a couple of hours. For a short day trip I can highly recommend the Altstadt of Stein am Rhein. Charming old city center. Beautiful well kept old houses from mainly before 1700. If you like charming old cities this is a must Visited Stein am Rhein on a rainy, windy day, so couldn’t explore much. But the is charming and beautiful. Quaint Swiss village on the Rhine.
