There is large parking in front of the basilica. You can visit in 40 mins. Stunning church well worth a visit, in use and clearly beloved. Fabulous statues and frescoes inside. Really very lovely indeed. Do also visit the bizarre oddity of *many* hand made religious ceramic figures in an underground 'cavern' beneath it, wonderfully bonkers! (Unfortunately I must however mention the worst example of whitewashed colonialism in one side room off the cavern; 'nativities' from around the world/many cultures. Blonde blue eyed Mexicans? Native American nativity scenes? Suggest skipping that room. Bad.) This piace la special! Confessions available at all times I have been and lots masses throughout the day. A beautiful place of rest for the soul. The very kind monks at the school, hosted me as a pilgrim,sharing with me their pilgrimage experiences.
