Had a great of the town from here and a must visit This is a little to visit. The climb up to the is short one and you do get a of the town. It costs 5€ per person to explore the which I think is a fair price. I do wish there was a place to buy a drink or a snack while checking out the castle. It’s a very pretty area but it doesn’t really take long to explore the castle. So it would be to have a restaurant to complement the view. There are restrooms available and I enjoyed the gardens. castle, partially destroyed. Good point over the little village of Eppstein This is a beautiful with a great of the city. Bring cash for the tickets and have a lunch at the outdoor cafes below. There is a playground for kids at the next to the as well. Eppo saving Berta, legends are! Marvellous place to be! Fantastic little in a lovely town with lovely people. Entry costs only 4 euros, which are well worth it. I visited in April where there weren't many people around and it made it extra special! Totally recommended! A very old with barely any people around, but enough to walk around, easy to access by S bahn, has a clean toilet 👍 Great spot for a weekend trip from Frankfurt. It’s only 20 min from Hauptbahnhof. Picturesque castle, interesting museum inside, my daughter was delighted - she had seen real knights armor for the first time in her life. Beautiful castle, very relaxed atmosphere, wonderful views all around. The museum within is on the smaller side, but given the admission fee, you really get to see a lot. Like with other castles, I'd advice against taking a stroller or hauling unnecessary stuff around, since paths are narrow and sometimes steep. One to two hours of exploring will probably be enough for most visitors. There is no restaurant on the castle, so bring a snack and water if you like. There are cafes and restaurants within very easy walking distance in the village though. The has modern restrooms which we found in clean and usable condition. Beautiful place. Don't forget to climb the tower. You will have a great of the town. Awesome place for the weekend. With some medieval interactive games, it will be very interesting for kids. It is about ten minutes walk from the train station, the signs indicate the entry point. My surprise was that the place was closed during business hours. It costs €5 to enter and it is cash only. There was a handwritten sign in German. which I suppose said something related to the closing. so don't take a train just to visit this place. Beautiful place, the caretaker was awesome, God bless you my man :) Beautiful place to visit, especially if you love history. It has a parking lot for about 10 cars. It costs 5 Euros cash to enter, keep that in mind. The little museum, which is located inside the chapel, has a well-detailed and illustrated history of the from the very beginning. There is a gentlemen dressed up as a knight from medieval times and he can play a kind of guitar in rectangular shape from that era. He does not speak English but he pulled out the instrument as requested by a German couple while he was explaining in more details about the history of the place. If you are in shape or want to, you are allowed to go to the top of the tower climbing the 239 steps. Once at the top, the of the twin and surroundings is breathtaking. There are and clean restrooms inside the compound. I recommend to visit it. Unfortunately we reached at 4.35 pm that was too late because the place closes 5pm . But the was so soothing and we enjoyed surroundings! Amazing and peaceful place to stop by if you're in Frankfurt. If you climb to the top of the castle, you'll get an amazing of the town.
