Really nice place for a short trip when you are in the area of Frankfurt. The train connection is pretty good and the area plenty of restaurants, cafes or bars around Its a nice burg and due to the extremely cold weather there were not too many people about. Of course everything was shut due to covid, but it was pleasant walking inside and then all the way around the castle on the outside and through the back streets. Great place to take the whole family for some amazing views and sight seeing. There are no set opening hours, but for tours there is a meeting spot on Sundays. If you want to learn more about the history of Burg Friedberg then I definitely recommend a tour. We went on a foggy morning it was like I imagen the olden days. The Adolfsturm can be climbed from the beginning of April to the end of October on Saturdays and Sundays and on public holidays from 2 to 6 p.m. The view of the Vogelsberg, the Taunus and as far as Frankfurt is magnificent. Guided tours for groups and school classes can also be organized on request. Busy little town. Famous for Elvis being stationed there. There is an old fortress that is very interesting. Such a beautiful castle in the most picturesque location! We were visiting this charming town and were excited to climb the tower of Burg Friedberg. The views from the top were spectacular!!! It costed 2 euros each to enter and it wasn’t too busy on a Saturday. Very nice place to spend a few hours walking and relaxing. Open 24/7. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Went here to school - amazing place with great teachers!! Burg Friedberg with the Friedberger Warte is a true gem in part due to the fact that Friedberg and the castle were not obliterated in the Second World War due to the local military leader's deliberate choice to capitulate, as a result of which the town was thankfully spared. As such, the splendid architecture has remained in its original state and acts like a beautiful time capsule. Burg Friedberg is very much worth a visit and offers some outstanding angles for photography enthusiasts and hobbyists alike. After visiting the Burg, the old town just outside the gates offers several pleasant places for a drink or a meal. Cool place to hang out for a while. Well kept.
