We had the Dampfnudel and they were out of this world. The regular menue looked very interesting and we will go back for a steak, I'm sure. Very friendly and a lovely old Bavarian Gasthof, in a small village atmosphere. Must be lovely in the summer months, when able to sit outside. I came from golf course to have a short drink and also for the reviews it had. All tables except 2 were free, no one there. They don t even let me drink a quick drink. They said: all occupied - I wonder where? :) All was empty except 2 tables. Well seems they don t need customers ;) - I think you need to take care of customers same always, not only when you need them like last 2 years. I would have loved to revierlw higher but Customer Attention was poor. This is my 1 answer to the Restaurant comment below: I may understand you don t like my review but this is how I felt it and I also don t want to get personal. If it was not possible to squeeze me in for a drink stating a time to leave, I would have liked a short explanation about the situation. This would also have been more respecful to a potential customer. Zur letzter Antwort des Restaurants: Im Gegensatz zum Restaurant möchte ich nicht persönlich werden. Aber danke für die Erklärungen. Excellent food with top marks for the steaks and their focus on local products. You can taste the quality with every bite. Also their new ideas to interpret well known dishes are impressive and fabulous yummy. MUST VISIT!!! We weren't planning on visiting this restaurant but it just happened to be in the middle of our road trip. Honestly it was the best German food experience during out stay in Germany. Super kind chef and nice little family restaurant vibe that provides the best food. Every dish was exceptional and I definitely miss it a lot after coming back to Canada. I wondered at first, “are they *trying* to keep this place private??” It looks like Wirtshaus Jederdorf. Unpretentious is not the right word, or even the right category of word. I don’t know the right word. No matter what you expect, you don’t expect this. On seeing it, I got the 7-menu, which is fine dining. They have a parallel Wirtshaus menu. Beautiful … the schnitzel was begging to be photographed. Magazine-cover schnitzel. My teen son said it was excellent. The 7-menu was interesting with lots of aspects I enjoyed and some that were unknown to me. I really enjoyed the ash-finished pastinak, which was all around interesting and delicious. It’s an example of simple things being amazing. All around there’s an “all food is fine food” vibe, which I really like. The chef is, let’s say, not afraid of anything. He brought our table a surprise from the kitchen, which I would never have been brave enough to order (something not commonly eaten). Fabulous. Luscious. This was a case beyond nose-to-tail gastronomy because the chef clearly has a vision for nose-to-tail taste. That was exciting, even if I’m still not brave enough to order it! (I’ll keep that a surprise for you.) Another item I really liked, even though it was so small and simple, was a small Bavarian knoedl kneaded with a savory cheese as a little treasure at the bottom of my mushroom soup. It was a little thing to discover - it was invisible - which changed the taste experience half way through. Delightful! BTW, I am not vegetarian it’s just that I was especially delighted by these side dishes. Every part of the 7-menu was praiseworthy. The crew is young and appears very casual - let me repeat that no one and nothing looks like fine dining is about to take place. At the same time, the crew is providing a fine dining experience with the service and attentiveness of fine dining. Like I said, you didn’t expect this place. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful lunch. The food was delicious and the owners were very friendly. Don't miss the desserts, specially the weiss beer tiramisu. If you are passing by, it's worth stopping! Our host recommended this restaurant and I can’t be more satisfied with the choice! The place is cozy, we also made friends with the other guests, because every table ordered a Kaiserschmarrn at the same time. The food experience was simply one of the best of my life. Unfortunately I didn’t take any picture of the 48h geschmorte Schulter I ordered, it was too good and I was stunned and couldn’t think of anything else while eating. And the owner is the kindest and dedicated person ever!!! I cannot give 10 stars just because they don’t exist. We were in the area and found the place via Google Maps. It was a real discovery. We both had a knife cut tartar with a home made brioche - it was fantastic quality meat and everything just delicious! As dessert, we had a Kaiserschmarren - also lots of taste and special! The service was excellent . It was a great experience and despite living a 45 min drive away - we will definitely be back!
