Arrived here at the end of Zoes place Santa Ride. Enormous generosity from them to host the event. From what I seen on the day it would be a fantastic venue for a wedding. We were planning on a walk down on Redcar beach but we noticed a new car park, wow we were really happy we decided to stop and look.We discovered a Walled and .We even bought an Annual pass as a future coffee or weekend Breakfast stop. It's gradually improving each time I visit. The plants are beginning to mature and they are doing more. In a few years I think this will be even better. Nice cafe. What a gorgeous cafe, very light, bright and airy. Offering a whole host of various drinks, treats and meals. We enjoyed a walk around the then a warming coffee in very welcoming surroundings. Outdoor seating was available. We enjoyed chocolate brownie, chocolate cookie, black americano, Latte, tea and a child's glass of milk. All very good. Unfortunately no photos of this! However a few photos for you, which was beautiful, however is going to flourish even more in the next coming months. You can see it potential coming along. I can't wait to wander here through the summer! Nice enough and quite peaceful, slow though and expensive for what they offer. This review is a bit unfair. Let me explain. We went to the Owl Centre (which is brilliant) and wanted a coffee and something to snack on. The Walled looked brilliant, and it is. The staff were lovely. We ordered our food and drink, sat down and our coffee was brought over. The food and drink were superb, great quality. The only criticism was the real food wasn’t being served due to them having a on. Now, that’s absolutely fine, but surely, even just a breakfast menu could be sorted when they’re hosting such events. A sausage or bacon bun. The Walled entrance fee was £4.00 per adult. We didn’t go in. It does look from what you can see from the cafe, but as there was a event on, we didn’t want to pay full price and not see everything. They do a season pass at £6.00 which we’ll probably do when there’s no event on. I will update my score when we again. Recent visit. Still a clean spacious cafe. Now allowing doggies inside. Prices seem to be rising since last last summer. Plenty of free parking. Have a look round the museum nearby ……free entry to see the story of steelmaking on Teesside. UPDATE April 2025 :- place to have a drink & a bite. Latest menu in photos A bit of a hidden gem. We visited kirkleatham museum many times and didn't know that this was here. There's a small charge for looking around the garden, which is in summer. The is very nice, serving a selection of hot and cold food and drinks. There's a dog friendly section too. It's also close to the huge car park, so if the hall car park is full - this is a good option. It's just a small walk to the owl centre and museum from here. Great place to easy access & plenty of parking. place with gardens, I did a here early August 2025 Such a shame that the in the leaves a lot to be desired. The walled is really lovely, the setting is and it has tremendous potential. However these days the experience is somewhat disappointing as the lets them down. Very slow service, and in fact we left today without ever receiving our order as it had not been passed through to the kitchen. Unfortunately this is not the only time we have been disappointed. The food when it does arrive is good, but they really are letting themselves down these days. in a place. Very clean. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food was really nice and reasonably priced We arrived for opening to have a look at the flowers before going to the museum play area. was a bit slow for entry tickets in the cafe, and then once we were in the itself none of the fountains were on. It is still school holidays and the weather wasn't bad so it was a bit disappointing. All the plants are well looked after though and I didn't see one weed. Plenty of signs saying what's going on too. often for the and with our annual pass. could do with labelling the cake counter with food names and allergens. Limited choice for veggies and vegans but what is there has been good so far. Disappointing that you can take dogs round and some staff seemed completely unaware of the little dog friendly area outside, we got very mixed messages a few times now. The themselves are beautiful, clean and very peaceful. A really place to spend a few hours sat watching the world go by! The are not being managed by enough staff, the whole place is an untidy mess and lots of areas are unplanted or dead. Not worth £10 for a family ticket. Pies and sausages rolls are warmed in the microwave but is clean and tidy. Fabulous find. This place is beautiful! The aren’t huge (we ambled slowly around them in about 30mins) but they are very well kept and the flowers are stunning. There is a maze of apple trees which is fun and a couple of willow structures and water features you can interact with. The is also a delight. Gorgeous views out to the with plenty of dog friendly seating. This will definitely become a regular haunt for us. is packed full of colour and always something different to see each to I visit. Lovely pumpkin display in the bothy, fresh produce for sale at the entrance. Yet again, denied food before the advertised serving times when with my toddler. Recommend the in kirkletham over the walled We organised a small and reception in the glass house at the and we had an absolutely amazing time. Everyone was so friendly and attentive to all of our needs! The food was great and anything we asked for wasn’t an issue. The staff really did go above and beyond to make our day extra special! The were stunning and everyone commented on how they were looking especially in June! Thank you so much ☺️ Too many times come to oder food before the advertised ends to be told not doing food anymore. Just dont bother putting a time if your not going to keep to it. Well laid out and presented garden, a pleasant even when the weather's a bit grey. Still plenty of colour in September. Nice meal in the cafe, plenty of space and dogs welcome. Really enjoyable. There was a going on in part of the garden, perhaps some signs to say that you could still have a look round would help. in the garden, had lunch with great sandwiches and cake selection Tried to order food at the and felt like I would of been easier to pre order it last week as it might of arrived by today. Only one person on the till doing everything which slowed it down to a halt as the rest of the walking dead staff was shuffling around trying to clean tables. Definitely useless Arrived at 13:40, choose food from menu, went and stood in queue.... Stood for approx 10 mins as people in front received their scone and tea... Very slow service... Came to place my oder to be told that food had stopped at 14:00...at this point it was 14:03...menu states 3pm as I checked when we arrived.... I was informed that we could only get pastries, cookies etc... I had my 7 Yr old grandson who needs a healthier diet than this so had to leave.... Very disapointed and also a bit angry at the way the was handled... Having worked in hospitality myself the server should at the very least informed those in queue that food was ending soon.. Also menus need to be updated of this time.... Not acceptable... Did go to at owl centre and the there was absolutely fabulous 👍 in leaves a lot to be desired apart from the guy who was doing the hot drinks, he at least had the good sense to ask the queue if they wanted hot drinks. Full breakfast was presented well but the toast was not toasted and looked to be cheap bread, scrambled eggs were and well seasoned but again the half toasted bread was awful. The are beautiful, and they could do so much more, never scrimp on the essentials.
