Stopped by this pub for lunch en route to Glasgow from London - a 10 min deviation from the A10 - and so pleased we did. Lovely country pub. Fabulous food - everything was really tasty and quality. Highly recommend the black pudding starter, cheeseburger and fish butty. Wonderful fat chips! Loved the rhubarb cider. Friendly staff. Pool table, darts, fireplace, outdoor seating all available. Definitely worth a visit! Booked a meal for 19.30 and had to remind staff, that we were still awaiting a starter at 20 30. No communication, as to why there was a wait.. On the plus side, the food was value and they did cut the starter bill by 50%. Not sure we will revisit. This is a lovely pub with great food, excellent beer on tap, and lots of drinks. The staff is lovely, friendly, and helpful. Specifics: - Pizza is really good - Sunday roasts are excellent — make a rezzy - Sticky toffee pudding is dreamy and delicious - Has nice outdoor seating with picnic benches - Inside is warm and cozy, as it should be - Great kids menu - They have games and books for kids The Beeswing Inn: A Proper Country Gem Found a brilliant local treasure! The Beeswing Inn serves proper home-cooked food that puts those typical chicken nuggets and chips to shame. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it our family's favourite spot for a meal out. Their bar is well-stocked with local ales and spirits that showcase the best of Yorkshire. What makes this pub special is how it brings the village to life. From fireworks displays and open mic nights to darts competitions, they create a real community feel that benefits everyone in the area. If you want authentic country pub food with heart, this is the place to visit! Oh, wow 👌! What a fantastic find, this pub was. Travelling down the A1, we searched pubs on route. The Beeswing Inn has a 4.7 rating, it should be 5! Soooooop glad, we decided to stop here for a meal. Extremely menu, great (and slightly different) choices from your normal pub grub. Our meal was amazing and cooked beautifully. Fantastic service too, very warm and welcoming. Well worth a visit, would highly recommend. Absolutely beautiful food! For a Saturday lunch time, was reasonably busy which is a sign. Welcoming friendly staff! Wouldn't hesitate to come again any time! They also have band nights, open mic nights, quizzes and bingo! Lovely pub with great food. Beth is the best, super attentive and accommodating! We were in a big group with my autistic brother, who it both gluten and lactose intolerant (so not the easiest person to please!), and they made a great effort cooking him up some gluten free battered chicken and chips. The slow cooked brisket was cooked beautifully, very flavoursome and the stone baked pizza was really yummy too. Couldn’t recommend more. Have been coming recently for the bi-monthly open mic nights which I have really enjoyed. Food is especially the posh dog (pictured). Odd hiccups here and there service wise but no big issues.
