Popped in this afternoon as in the area for a Mayday fair. were very accommodating. We had our dog with us so we were popped in the bar. We had lasagnas and apple pies which were tasty. Very well priced. Will definitely be popping back to this dog pub in the future. Visited Easter Saturday for a meal with some friends. Good old pub with staff. Excellent selection of food. We had the Salmon and Chicken skewers. Both meals came with undressed salad, which was disappointing, though it didn't state that the salad would be dressed, so perhaps my own expectations are unreasonable. The portion size was big enough, without being massive. Sadly, the chicken was rather chewy and fairly tasteless, served with chips (which were good) and coleslaw (which was average) However, the salmon was lovely. Served with hollandaise sauce, new potatoes and peas, all of which were perfect. The wait time for food was around 10-15mins. All in it was roughly £35 which is pretty reasonable for 2 meals and 2 pints of soft drink. The main annoyance I personally had was that there was a group of locals in the corner getting drunk, which were rather loud. But... It's a pub. What else would you expect? If I'm ever passing by at dinner time again I'll be sure to stop in. Aside from the chewy chicken and loud locals it was excellent We were the interlopers for the night as we don't live in the county, but can't praise this pub and enough. Really tasty home cooked food with a choice and portion size. To top it all, staff, and the quiz night was such fun too. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We generally order a Sunday lunch every week and the food is consistently excellent, especially the roast meat and potatoes. I think it is value.
