This is a fantastic Indian restaurant. We were made very welcome when we celebrated A-level results here. The congratulated our son and served us a delicious at a good price. Highly recommended. I had the CHICKEN CHILLI MASALLA, the sauce was a little thin, and the chicken was dry. Onion bhaji was ok as a starter. The server was in a hurry, and the atmosphere was noisy, so was not an overly pleasant experience. Haven’t been here for a good few years and it’s great to see that the standard hasn’t changed. Fantastic food, we will definitely come again Went for a tonight. Was absolutely freezing inside kept coats on. Felt as if we were being stalked by waiters. Kept watching us. Only people in there. Food was amazing though. Didn’t feel welcome sadly. First time here and was not disappointed. Great variety of food and, despite the menu size, everything we ordered was top notch. It was nice to see a beer I hadn't encountered before, Bangla, which complemented the very well. I love that this place was fairly busy on a Monday when most restaurants, including mine, wouldn't dream of opening on such a quiet day. Spice Mahal truly represents the paradigm we should all aim for, with regular repeat customers driving consistent and new business alike. Went as party of 4. Three meat eaters and me a veggie. Chose a Paneer mixed veg curry. I asked if vegetables were fresh, they said yes, but in fact frozen. No mushrooms, no onions, no Pepper, but potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and peas. No spice and tasted of brine, so inedible. I complained and apparently they told the chef! I love this place! I've been going here for about 8 years and the quality has NOT changed. The authenticity of the food, the great portions of the dishes, the taste and flavour is incredible! I have actually been ordering the exact same thing for 8 years too, and it just shows how consistent it is! I commend the and cooks! The only thing I would say is the inside of the restaurant needs a bit of an update. It's very outdated, but that is it! Go and have some great food. Amazing place , so friendly and food delicious 😋 Had a lovely with friends. Tasty pickles and crispy poppadoms. Very reasonably priced main course. Achari Lamb was yummy. Naans, rices and onion bhajis all enjoyed. Friendly and a good atmosphere. Went with friends , had a lovely meal. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala with pilau rice, absolutely delicious 😋. Staff friendly and service great, very relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely go again. We have been using Spice Mahal since we moved to the area in 2019 (it was a godsend during lockdown!), having tried a few other local options...and it is by far and away the best. The team are really friendly and welcoming but the food is the thing to shout about. I think this place is all about the grill and the tandoor - vegetarian mains are not what I would be looking for anyway but, that said, the tarka dal, sag aloo and sag paneer are always excellent accompaniments to our standard main course options: naga chilli chicken (HOT! and tasty!), voyrobi or Mahal special lamb, prawn madras and garlic chilli chicken. We tend to go for garlic naan and keema rice and we like the chutneys that come with the poppadoms too. In five-and-a-half years, I think we have had one slightly disappointing meal...I think that's around 98%+ success rate. :) I have lived in Leicester, eaten curries regularly in Birmingham, Bradford and Streatham and Spice Mahal is right up there with the best for meat, tandoor breads and dal. Great food, lovely environment and the are very welcoming we will definitely be coming back Thankyou Eaten here a few times as it's close to my parents house. Food is mediocre at best. Most recent visit my Bhuna was tasteless. Very few herbs or spices. Just lamb in gravy with onions. Have had nicer supermarket curry. Staff vary from helpful to indifferent. Our first time trying Spice Mahal and it won't be our last! The were friendly & helpful, and the food was high quality & extremely tasty. Highly recommended.
