Lunch was taken at the Cornish Bakery. The service was quick and efficient. Of course we had to have traditional Cornish pasties. The pasties were extremely tasty. Even the crust was so very tasty. This I find is not always the case. There was a choice of tea and coffees. We chose a booth which surprisingly cut out the noise from the rest of the cafe. The toilets were very clean which is always a bonus. Clan was heading north and stopped off at this outlet for a break and thought we would get some snacks and drinks here. What a lovely choice that was!!! Atmosphere was lovely, with these cool little cubbyholes to sit in. Yet had places outside too so you can enjoy the sun. Service was lovely, ladies were a delight to talk to. But the food and drink, shockingly good! I really want expecting it to be THAT good! Everything had tons of flavor! O and the white hot chocolate got passed around to try by all because it was so unique and tasty. All in all a great place to visit. Enjoy. X Lovely cinnamon bun and coffee here. Nice service however I'm very disabled and walk using crutches. She said she'd bring it to my table however lady after me in the queue kindly brought it to me. Not sure why person serving me didn't but oh well Stopped here for breakfast with my wife and 2 young children. We all loved the pastries! Coffee tasted really but came with no crema 😪. No crema, no unfortunately! It would of had 5 stars all round if it wasn't for the crema on the coffee. Expensive, but Great place for coffee and cakes en route to the northern parts. The scones are delicious and we always get takeaway pasties for the end of the journey. It can get busy but the queueing is worth it. Staff are friendly and take their time to deal with each customer properly. Much better than the other options at Gretna. Recommended. We really enjoyed the scones and the kids loved the cinnamon rolls. The atmosphere is cozy, clean and light. This is a great stop for lunch while shipping. We called in today from our work at MOD Longtown (in our uniform) for our lunch. I can only say that the service was second to none as was the chicken masala pasty and latte. It was difficult to choose what to have it all looked delicious. The staff are so friendly, efficient and service was served with a warm, welcoming smile. I will be back on Sunday with our grandson so we can try the cakes this time 😀 Since moving to the area, the Cornish Bakery in Gretna has quickly become one of my favourite places to visit. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine smiles and friendly conversation, the staff here are absolutely brilliant. They’re always cheerful, attentive, and make you feel welcome every single time. It’s clear they take real pride in their work and in looking after their customers. The food itself is outstanding. The pastries are hands down the best I’ve had anywhere, perfectly baked, golden, and full of flavour. Whether it’s a classic Cornish pasty, a warm croissant, or one of their sweet treats, everything tastes fresh and made with care. Being able to watch the team bake and prepare everything right there in front of you is a huge plus — it adds to the charm and really shows how much effort goes into every batch. The atmosphere in the bakery is always relaxed and cosy, perfect for sitting down with a coffee and something warm from the counter. The place is spotless and well-run, and it’s great to see how well the team work together, they really give the place its friendly, local charm. All in all, I can’t recommend the Cornish Bakery in Gretna enough. It’s a credit to the area, run by a team who clearly care about what they do. Easily five stars every time I visit.
