The Drovers Rest

Carlisle, United Kingdom Pub

One of the Best Places To Visits in Beaumont Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Honestly, the only minor "critical" thing I'd say is that the portions were too big - I had lovely tasty Venison haunch, but by the time I'd got through that (and my beautiful "starter" of oriental-style belly pork) I was pogged, so had to forego the scone bread and butter pudding I was going to indulge in... The ladies who served me were lovely - smiley, positive, friendly, professional - the type of people who just make you feel life is worth living!! Planning on going back tomorrow for their homemade Cumberland sausage "hot dog"!! I can not put in words how amazing this place is. If you are anywhere even remotely close you need to go. We came for lunch and the food is on another level!! One of the best things I have eaten. The chef and staff were so attentive and even brought us a complimentary drink for our wedding celebrations. We even had the company of the two resident chickens in the beer garden. Proper hidden gem, we will be going back 100% on our next visit here. Thank you for an amazing lunch and all round experience The first visit was 3 years ago, while heading home after a holiday we had to pay another visit. Nothing has changed the food is just as amazing as it was 3 years ago. Service is brilliant and also has a dog friendly area as well. Will definitely return again. Loved it all. Staff were amazing, atmosphere was family friendly and cozy, food was delicious. Our dogs first experience coming out for a meal with us and the place couldn't be more accommodating. Will definitely visit again. Beware the hot sausage, it's really hot (They do warn you). Incredible food and a great range of drinks (especially ales). Would highly recommend the truffle and cheese dumplings off the beer plates menu. Will definitely be returning. The perfect pub! We've been once before years ago and wanted to come back ever since. Had two of the specials tonight, and some of the beer battered pickles and homemade chicken liver pate. Didn't have our dogs with us tonight but they would have been welcome in the dog friendly part of the pub. We stayed for a weekend at a local AirBnB and stopped here for lunch. The food was incredible! Tom and his team were amazing and looked after us, the beer was great and the whole place had a lovely atmosphere (also dog friendly with a doggy menu!) We had the classic hot dog and the hell hound, they were HUGE! Tom gave us some great recommendations and honestly it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had out. Everything is locally sourced and homemade and we even bought some Cumberland sausage to take home. Fantastic service, food and beautiful location, I would highly recommend The nicest welcome I’ve ever received. The boy had Return of the Mac, a home made hotdog topped with bacon and mac n cheese and his words were, “This is the best thing I’ve ever eaten!” My other child has massive allergies and Tom the chef couldn’t have been more helpful. Went through every ingredient making us feel safe and looked after. I HIGHLY recommend a visit.
