Interesting and well preserved ironworks that has been transformed into a small museum. On Sundays there is a performance where the water powered machinery is fully operational and there’s an exhibition on how metal tools were crafted. Very instructive and interesting for the whole family! There’s also a nice walk along the riverside that starts from El Pobal ironworks. Highly recommend it! It is possible to see an old foundry working Hemos ido al Pobal a una visita guiada a la antigua herrería. Exceptional experience. The Forjador is a very interesting man to listen to. Access for older persons isn't great. Perhaps they could make some iron handrails to overcome this? We went as a mixed Castellano/English speaking group and were given English leaflets for our non-Castellano speakers. Our guide, Íker, was not only kind enough to speak English when he could but he is also funny, personable and super super engaging. It was a delight to learn from him. A great experience learning how iron was fabricated in the past Fabulous little waterpowered iron works and mill. Restored and in working order, with information about the families that lived and worked there. On Saturdays, the museum gives working demonstrations. Would have loved to have seen it, but we had a ferry to catch. A real gem. Good parking area by the road and an easy, smooth pathway down to the mill area a few minutes walk away, with a diversion through a giant bamboo grove if wanted.
