Nice on a glorious sunny day petanque games were on and people are enjoying the warm summer day. Lovely open space 👍 Gala day, weather is its usual dreary self. Good amount of shows for the kids, the usual variations of burger vans, all very tasty as I found out personally Good kids play area and lots of green space for dog walking. Prone to drifts of litter when local youths have had their wicked ways with the bins. It's a public with good play area's for children, separated from dog walkers, and where the village's Gala days are held. They're planting new trees, and relaying paths. Would be nicer if all dog owners picked up after them instead of just the decent ones. The play had broken glass bottles all over the place as well. Lovely place for walking alone or with dogs. Frequently maintained by council to be kept nice. There is alot of flat grass areas for kids and families to play or picnic if you wished aswell as an outdoor enclosed playpark, skate and mini football pitch. There are 2 caged 5 aside pitches with a small carpark beside it but no public toilets. There is a local scotmid with ATM access directly across the road on on of the corners for hot and cold snacks, biscuits and cakes. Peak times best to be avoided if you're looking solely for play access as surrounded by residential area so gets a bit busy. And a side note... Great Pokemon Go area. It's a bit sparse but still very nice and quiet at certain times it really made me angry at the council when they have a monument to the bravest of brave men from Newtongrange who gave there lives to fight for our freedom not just then but it has echoed up to our generation and there is a tiny reminder not a statue befitting of these men's ultimate sacrifice!!!!! So they should try a lot harder and make it a focal point of the park. Rant over 🏴🙂 Again fantastic place for dog Walker's just remember pick up your dog's mess keep it clean so other dog's can enjoy walking around as one day these beautiful places might be closed off to dog Walker's because so many people just leave it or they bag it but don't put the bag in the bins they drop the dam bag.... Nice place for walking the dog or having a stroll also has a skate and for the kids enclosed football area and football pitch and lots of seats and its close to the some local shops Large dog with plenty if resting points at benches. Nice war memorial. Kids love going to straight after school n nursery school is just through the gate. Just going a wee walk & sitting at one of the benches listening to ur music is nice to relax a little too.
