The food was excellent. A great tasty burger with sweet chilli sauce and chicken goujons with garlic mayo. Great fries too all cooked to order. Nice log burner in restaurant. Fitted us in at last minute, extremely and locals in bar. Great food and excellent service. Very dog 🐕👏 Food delicious here. Plenty choices on the menu and cater for children. Very portion sizes and decent prices. Highly recommended having a meal here. Parking at rear. A fantatsic last minute find; staff, delcious food and very reasonably priced, all in surroundings. Can highly recommend a visit here. New menu which is great. Grant and the are so helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Emma and Abby. It's getting busy so you might need to book. Lemon Meringue is worth saving space for! Great lunch! Everything was super. If you don't like sloppy sweets just don't ask for the cream added food and very staff. Had a time. Very family too. Not as as expected. Menu was Ltd and too much like pub grub. Great pub, gopd food! 👍 What an excellent find!! We were looking for somewhere to eat on our way back from Edinburgh and gave this place a try. The whole experience was faultless from start to finish, the couldn't have been more and helpful, the food was absolutely excellent (and really value) and the beer was marvelous as well. Highly recommended and will definitely be using this place again. We had the Scotsman burger (Angus burger with black pudding& haggis) Mac& cheese, steak& ale pie. We also saw another table having the cocktail tower which looked REALLY impressive and tempting 😁 Food is very nice however the were very rude. Never got chance to spend anything as booking got cancelled over phone by very rude and obnoxious female, had table booked for a 6.30pm sitting to celebrate with family only to receive call at 6.22pm to be informed booking cancelled because was booked for 6pm and give 25 minute window told them no it was 6.30 ,then the rude one said no we don't make mistakes and hung up,fortunately juniper lea about another mile or so up A68 could help us complete celebrate, so just be wary of this place . Very annoyed customer 😒 We've had a couple of boozy brunches and a fair few family meals here. On every occasion the are exceptional, highly attentive, polite, helpful they're a credit to Foresters! Highly recommend the boozy brunch, it's a bargain deal, cocktails are made to order too. Rating food is subjective, to my taste it's average here but still enjoyable, I'm not slating it, I'm just very fussy. I'm not visiting for the food, its the enjoyment of having a family meal Odd experience. I watched the football for 30 minutes, and then a older woman, with an even lovelier dog sat on my table. A local from behind me shouted that I was in her regular seat, and she shouldn't have to sit somewhere else because I was there. The older woman was to stay where she was, but the bloke insisted I moved. I did move, and it was OK. Just really odd. I've been to a lot of pubs all over rural parts of England, Scotland & Ireland + Europe & never been asked to move seats for a local. The guy with a cross tattoo on his cheek did state he wasn't a bouncer, but he wasn't asking. He was telling. It's a small pub, and everyone heard this odd exchange to move seats. So, if you do go, just be prepared to move seats, as it could happen. Of course the older woman was lovely, and apologies when we was leaving. Not that she had too, and I'll always move for an older person. Just bizarre for it to be demanded by a stranger, in the comfort of a pub where all are apparently welcome. Visited the Forresters yesterday afternoon for Sunday lunch. It did not disappoint - it was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to go back and visit again. The 2 ladies working were and friendly. My little boy had so much fun trying to show the younger lady his dance moves. We had 2 prams and it wasn’t an issue accommodating us. Thank you so much for a meal and making us feel very welcome. We’ll definitely be back soon. What an awesome Country Pub. The are warm and really treat you well. I’ve just finished off a Sunday Roast thanks to Chef Lee. The flavours were amazing. I had the meat mix and it was delicious. All I n all a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Thanks Guys Ash food ,staff and locals and welcoming, the wild haggis fritters were amazing. Great family dinner restaurant, are was relatively quick even with in kitchen missing. Food very tasty, choice on menu, excellent service definitely will be returning. We have used the fine on many occasions. Today was the first time we have been since it has been renovated. Not only is the a nice place to eat, the food is also great ( and value for money) along with the great service. We all said that we would highly recommend this restaurant.
