Asador IBAIONDO Erretegia

Barakaldo, Spain Fish restaurant

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. A big Basque restaurant. You choose from the menu. You order, pay, and take the drinks, salads, and tableware back to your table and wait for your personal buzzer calls you to pick up the order from the counter. The chicken is delicious. The small salad was a little bit tasteless, with no salt or vinegar. The food is very nice, traditional, and not too expensive. We found this restaurant based on its high ratings and reasonable prices, and while the food was generally good – large portions, affordable, and tasty – the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The system is very confusing: there’s no table reservation, and you have to join two separate queues – one for a table and one for ordering food. Some people got a table first but then had to wait for their order, while others ordered food first but had no table. It was chaotic and hard to understand. Service was inconsistent as well – at some tables, waiters delivered the food, while at others, guests had to serve themselves, yet the waiters still cleared plates. We also found some dishes odd: for example, the fish came in almost a liter of olive oil, and the meat was a bit tough. Considering the price, the food was acceptable, but waiting three hours just to eat on a busy Saturday made it hard to enjoy the meal. If you go, be prepared for long waits and a confusing system. Glad we found a real local spot with great food on our first evening in the area. The grilled hake, croquetas, chorizo were all delicious. We went there a second time in 2 weeks because we loved it so much. This place is great for families. It has a buzzing atmosphere and the food is great. The tortilla española with onions is delicious (especially for kids) and the meat is great. A very nice place for everyone who wants to try eating like a local. Great menu, generous portions, fresh ingredients. Even though it's rare for them to have non Spanish visitors we had absolutely no problem communicating and ordering. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Hearty portions, good food and really fair prices 👌 great environment and calm location. We went for the meaty dishes but fish looked good too. Totally recommended, would definitely come back! Superb food served in a 'self service' style. Great atmosphere. A bit remote, but well worth the trip. I am giving one star because I cannot give any lower. After 20 minutes waiting time to place an order, we waited 1 !!! Hour to receive a fish that swam in oil with 3 slices of potatos . Service 0 .. you have ticket and you need to place your order at the bar and the ambiance was nothing special. Finally our baby are only bread and our older children asked for biscuits.
