Getxo is a great place for a walk, the cruise line stops here. You can access Bilbao via train, it probably takes 15/20 mins to get into Bilbao I'd stop in Zazpi Kaleak if I was a tourist and see the old town. But if you just want a stroll Getxo is perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful, but almost nobody speaks English. Toilets are clean, and showers have no timers. Several bars, but no groceries, and the chandlery is small and only has the bare minimum. There is a crane and a boat yard. Very close to the marina with loverly views back over Bilbao.
