Very nice short walk to the castle . Entering only the castle is free . But I recommend to take the one hour guided that takes you to see the castle and the carved rocks. We had this with Gotfried the local guid who was very interesting and knowledgeable. Amazing place to explore! Thanks to the excellent and flexible arrangement of the staff, Giada, a very professional, knowledgeable & pleasant staff, gave me a of the rock engravings. Best time to is in the afternoon because the lighting allows you to see the engravings more easily. It’s really a special place to and I’d recommend anyone to visit, there’s some great history/stories to explore here! A wonderful experience given by Gottfried. His detailed explanations and clear passion for the history of the area makes this a must-stop for anyone visiting this part of Italy! He ensured that everyone could see the incisions which are otherwise hard to see without a guide. The gives a personal touch to the information compared to the cold (and often over-long) explanation boards in other historical sites. There is also a wonderful view over the valleys! What an amazing experience we had today. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. He made it fun esp for the young kids in our group. Minimum walking. A must if you are in Valtellina. Absolutely worth a visit! The guides (tours are also available in English and German) are well qualified & enthusiastic and give a good overview of both castles and the nearby rock carvings. Also ok for kids or older people, there's not too much walking. Amazing location and great tour. Me and my girlfriend showed up kind of randomly and they organized a just for us. They were able to do the entirely in English, which was also very nice given that my girlfriend is American. The was very interesting and easy to follow. The park cover and incredibly wide historical period of Valtellina. We had today a very lovely and interesting guidance. Our Guide, Gottfried, was very sympathic and competent. He explained patient under Covid condition (with Mask) all the History and regional facts. Also he told us honestly about not certain pre-historic aspects, that Investigation is still ongoing. The was a bit longer than planned, and for 5€ a more than fair price. You will not discover only the pre-historic Symbols, walking over the big rupe Magna, but also the well preserved castles Ruins. From us a clear recommendation. Ilario gave us a great of the Rupe Magna on very short notice. He was very informative and enthusiastic, and great with kids and people who spoke very little Italian. The was fantastic; I was not expecting to be able to walk on the rock and see the carvings up so close. The castles are also very interesting, and the views back into Valtellina are wonderful. I visited the "Parco delle incisioni rupestri" in Grosio last fall, and it was a great experience to see the stone-age drawings on the surface of the rocks (not, as I somehow had expected, in a cave). I was the only visitor at the time, and a young guide was so friendly to offer me a and to explain to me the origins and the meaning of the drawings. The site also provides wonderful views of the valley and its opposite side. A can be combined with that of two adjacent medieval castles. It's a bit difficult to find in Grosio the right spot from where to walk up to the Parco but you can ask locals for the right way.
