We booked through guest relations in the lobby by reception, they took the phone number and said they would charge to the room and that we would pay when we checked out of the hotel. Upon arrival at the Cage we were told we had no booking and had to show proof from the WhatsApp message from the lady at guest relations. They decided to let us in and gave us a booth and we had a great night. As closing time was nearing (3:30 am) we were told that the booth hadn’t been paid for and that the had nothing to do with the hotel. Now 1. Why are guest relations allowing us to book through them without telling us we need to pay separately and not through the room, 2. Why did the front staff let us in to the cage without checking payment ( We would have happily paid then and there if guest relations and front staff had told us we need to pay before we enter) The manager of cage surrounded us with security and made us feel like criminals, insulted us and was just straight up rude. He said no payment was made and refused to let us leave. We pleaded that it was charged to the room and should already be sorted as we have given the room number and booked through the hotel. we have ended up being dragged by the manager to reception in order to sort this issue and resulting in us having to pay £595 to reception at 4:30 in the morning. Appalling behaviour and the managers part and has ruined our stay at the lovely Cratos hotel. Staff haven’t got much of a clue of what’s going on.
