I can also highly recommend the baklava, will definitely be back again! The coffees were great. However, the baclava wasn't pleasant, it felt old. A nice coffee, great vibe, chance of playing backgammon (tavla) surrounded by old posters of actors movies of 60s, 70s. I was desperately craving some Kurdish (menengiç kahvesi) since I had it only once, back in Izmir, and an incredibly helpful waiter at another cafe nearby pointed me to Kumda when I asked him where I could possibly find it in the region — though I had no hopes at all, because whenever I mentioned it since I came to Cyprus people just looked at me with confusion — and it was much more delicious than I could have imagined! Apparently they grind the beans on demand in-house (not sure, as I don’t speak Turkish and my boyfriend was talking to the waitress for us — it seems that service isn’t offered in English) and I was even happier to learn they make it with milk there, which lends it an even nuttier and creamier taste. It was simply heavenly. I have quite a sweet tooth when it comes to beverages, but I ordered mine without sugar as I wanted to eat with some cake they had available, and I didn’t regret it at all. When it comes to regular Turkish coffee, I cannot drink it at all without sugar or without a piece of chocolate in my mouth for each sip, but in the case of menengiç it was smooth and soft even when not paired with the cake. Truly superb experience. Prices are surprisingly good. The cake was tasty and not overly sweet. The “coffees”came accompanied with a tiny glass of some kind of rose syrup beverage (a little too sweet for my taste), the most basic kind of Turkish delight (I’m not a big fan unless it’s the handmade, fancy ones with nuts, so I left mine untouched) and some water. A much more pleasant experience than I was expecting. 100% recommend and will be back each time I’m town, without a doubt. Relatively cheap turkish served in a traditional way. Definitely worth a visit! A small cafe but they serve pretty coffee. The outside isn’t as appealing as the indoor, inside is rustic and atmospheric. And it’s really affordable, service was attentive. Hygiene can be increase a little here, but except that, a place for a coffe. There's some Turkish retro feel about this place. That took me back to when I was 80 years old.. in old Turkey. I liked that. The coffee...you won't get that tastes so at these guys' price anywhere around where these guys are located.. I had Turkish and a cheese cake.. The toilet ain't so big though.. maybe they didn't have enough space for that. The staff was very friendly, you can see that the people working here really love their job. I was very pleased that pleasant retro music plays, and most importantly, it plays quietly and you can hear each other's speech. The prices are very low, the food is very tasty and fresh.
