This is a truly traditional English pub with an amazing atmosphere a truly landlady. choice of beer including my pops favourite, a old bombardier, and proper traditional homemade pies. They clearly don't need the business and so are only serving friends. OR they need to change attitude and capability of to cope with a private function AND normal visitors. Won't bother again! From opening early for us to decorate, to accommodating dietary requirements, children's activities, additional tables and chairs, they were extremely willing to support us in every way. Communication in the lead up to the event was fantastic. The food was delicious and replenished regularly as the day went on. The interacted with the children and our local celebrity guest! I don’t normally leave reviews, but having eaten on Saturday evening at The Cock I wanted to thank the very professional and compliment the chef. I had the sirloin steak and my husband had fish and chips, both were excellent and the steak was perfectly cooked . We will be booking again soon We had a meal on Friday. It was our first visit after the pub changed hands and we were not disappointed! My husband loved his fish and chips…the fish was huge and very tasty. Chips nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My linguine tasted very with plenty of salmon and prawns in it. We didn’t have dessert due to the portion sizes of our mail meal…perhaps next time. Because we will be back!
