This pub has achieved the perfect balance to cater for all potential patrons which is very hard to achieve. There is a restaurant section which is lovely, a bar area with TV’s showing sport to the right level, not overwhelming or a sports bar vibe, retaining a high quality environment but showing sports which is hard balance they have got right. Speaking to a manager (may have been the landlady), they offer darts & quiz nights also to keep as busy as possible / cater for all patrons requests. I wish the village I reside in had a pub like this! We came for a family meal on a Tuesday evening and were very impressed. decor and atmosphere, service and the food was to die for. The menu was varied and had some fancier options but also pub classics. All homemade. The pie was exceptional and you could tell everything from the pastry to the mash and gravy was homemade. Really recommend! We visited yesterday for a Sunday Roast with my family, The roast its self was and we all really enjoyed it!, The staff were really and attentive too with it being a beautiful little village pub! The only downside is i would say the wait for the food can be quite long i think we waited around 30/40 minutes for our roast bear in mind we were the only table in the restaurant at that point! We then had to wait a around 30 minutes for our desserts and only 2 were ordered, at this time there was no one else in the pub apart from our table, sadly when the desserts came they were cold, my partner who had an apple pie said it almost felt frozen in the middle still! Apart from the wait and the desserts overall the pub was and would probably try again for maybe some drinks and bar snacks etc! Thank you! A historic pub with a quirky split level interior. The food portions offer value for money however as we dined as a large group, we were sat in the boot room and felt a little out of sight, out of mind with no offer of more drinks and slow service. Toilets are situated upstairs so a bit tricky with a toddler but otherwise very welcoming of children and kids menu. I cannot fault this village pub for its food, drink and service. Evie, Laura and Olivia in particular are complete superstars and work incredibly hard to make the service received outstanding. It has been our go-to place for Christmas Day, Mothers Day and any other day in between! The menu is varied and delicious. The Sunday roasts alone keep us coming back for more. Ample parking, and outside area with bar make this place a joy to visit. Having just moved to the area, The Boot has become our favourite pub. The food is great, and the staff are always extremely friendly making for a relaxing atmosphere (exactly what a good pub should be) - we visited with our one week old son and everyone was with him, our server (Olivia) was very considerate in bringing out our food and drink making sure we weren’t scrambling to make room on the table/put him in his pram to sleep. We were very impressed all round! We came as a party of four for the £15 lunchtime menu. You would have thought it was simple enough. Food was good, but the atmosphere was cold, and we were actually shivering, it was so cold in there. It was so noisy with a member of staff crashing and banging, dropping things on the floor. Although there were only a few customers there, when it cam to pay we were ingnored by a membert of staff continuing her conversation with some one else. Then payment...............well that was the joke. We all paid seperately but it seems it is impossible for a £15 meal and a drink to be added up. We were all charged an extra £5, which had to be refunded. Needless to say we will not be rushing back. Check your bills. Many thanks to all the team for the amazing job you did hosting our double baptism party. The garden was for the event, the team worked really hard and food was great!
