I went to meet my friend and went for a walk around Caistor and watched an outdoor movie on the park hill, with fish & chips.. then went to the white hart for a couple of pints, a lovely cosy pub with outdoor beer garden , very nice and it was a full moon. Absolutely phenomenal quality!! We aren’t local, but visited during our stay in the area. This pubs atmosphere is unmatched. The food quality was exceptional, the staff were all so kind. It was great to see that when an old lady was complaining about her seating arrangements as she “visits all the time”, the manageress stood her ground and sided with her bar maid rather than just meeting this ridiculous ladies demands. Showed true leadership skills and it was great to see her supporting her staff as unfortunately this isn’t common practice anymore. If we ever find ourselves staying locally again we would be sure to re-visit! See pictured: Cheese burger meal served with fries & onion rings. Chicken Tikka Massala meal Really nice food. All homemade nothing disappoints working my way through the menu .. liver and bacon is my favourite. The gammon is divine and mixed grill is awesome make sure your hungry.. exceptional value for money ... Lovely friendly staff. My favourite place to eat by far five star ⭐. New to the area and decided to visit the White Hart, despite the mixed reviews. Out of stock of two wines requested on a Friday lunchtime and told the next delivery was Monday. Doesn't seem great planning for a pub. I ordered the chicken katsu. The katsu was more like a (not great) chip shop curry. I would say the chicken was frozen and pre-battered. Huge portion size but I had no desire to eat it all and regretted what I had eaten later in the day. The fish and chips were ok. The atmosphere was quite gloomy so we decided to sit outside in the sun. Won't be visiting again. Taken a while to write this as I don't like to leave bad reviews but on contemplating I thought I should to make the owner aware. The food was tasty and cooked to perfection so hats off to the chef. the service was slow and the lady who looked to be in charge was abrupt and didn't seem like she had a clue about anything, mainly wandering around on her phone, but the man behind the bar was taking the lead and tried his best by all accounts, the lights are far to bright the room we ate in was very cold, standing at the bar for a while to wait for a drink whilst my food was going cold on the table while the lady in charge was lets say more interested in the men than serving us, my son asked for a coke but didn't actually receive the drink, the pub wasn't at all busy especially as we've been here over the years when we have been to the races and its always had a cosy feel, that feeling has gone I'm afraid to say, there was lipstick on my other half's glass , the table was not wiped and had sauce on the edges , the cutlery was not polished , all in all the service wasn't great but the food was very good thats why it's taken me a few days to write This as it's been a mixed bag , would we return? Maybe if the staff could manage their jobs properly and the attitude changes If I could give a 0 i would, Friday night and no atmosphere the pub was cold and felt awkward with a bad atmosphere. The women behind the bar was rude and felt like she could not be bothered to serve us.
