We made a visit to this place last weekend and really pleased we did. The atmosphere here is relaxed and pleasant. The friendly and jolly and quite helpful. The venue itself is pleasantly decorated and clean. A open space with access in and out. Outside is a seating area with again plenty of space. The food it’s self was really a helping of food. I had the steak and ail pie which was very tasty, the pastry was a little too much but again nice. My only criticism with the steak and ail pie would be you don’t get enough gravy, plenty of people may disagree but for me I like a helping of gravy. Family had fish and chips which were apparently fantastic and I must say did look really good. A tandoori chicken burger, again looked really presentation wise and again delicious and a beef burger which was great all the food was eaten and thoroughly enjoyable. If I was to may one criticism it would Be when the food was served the server rather than going around the table and serving (with plenty of room to do so) she was leaning over and between us to serve. This made us have to move a little to allow her to do this. This by no means is a compliment. Just an inexperienced member of maybe. It certainly did not spoil our visit. Overall we were very happy with the food and and loved the venue. Would we eat here again? YES Would we recommend this venue? YES Had a lovely early tea here. Spectacular pasta dish, the chicken and crispy bacon franciacorta absolutely outstanding. Mrs had a couple of starters. Generous serving of delicious meatballs and the best bruschetta ive ever had. 5 ⭐️ great as well, all reasonably priced. As a family we've had meals at the Lounge weekly for years. We thought that we'd try the new with the new owners since the refurbishment. We are a family of vegetarians and always had lovely food before the refurbishment. There was very little that the lounge could offer us as vegetarians. We were told the the chips weren't vegetarian too. We won't be returning to the lounge. The for meat and fish eaters looked varied. Me and the misses popped out for a Sunday lunch, we regularly eat out, so can compare all aspects of a venue. Service and food excellent, the photo says it all!! Fillet steak £38, didn’t come with chips had to pay £3.50 extra. Side salad covered in balsamic vinegar which needed to be separate, steak was very as was the starter. Young needing to pay more attention to service, meal delivered, offered no condiments and forks used on starter course, replacement not offered. Overall a pub meal and high end prices without the high end service. Had to go to the bar several times, for drinks, to ask for cocktail menu, to ask for condiments, to ask for bill and then return to bar to pay it. Very poor considering we spent £120. My friend and I went for food last night for the first time after recent closure for refurbishment. The decor looks really and is an improvement. We were seated right away in a table near the window and our drinks and food order were taken quickly. The is good, not too big but something for everyone. Prices are fair in the current climate. The smash burger was okay, if quite under-seasoned. My friend said the same about her chicken burger. The chips were and a portion. After that we received no further service, no-one cleared our plates or took another drinks order which we would have had if a member of had come over. A shame as it wasn’t particularly busy. It’s unclear as to whether it’s table or bar service? Our food order was taken at our table but when we went to the bar to pay other diners were ordering drinks at the bar, perhaps they got tired of waiting too? There would be a big improvement if the were more attentive. They need more guidance, there didn’t appear to be anyone acting as manager or lead. Otherwise local bar/restaurant, just a little inconsistent. Absolutely outstanding! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and comfort. The were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely went out of their way to make the experience special. The food was exceptional—each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. You can really tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients are used, and every bite was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the had a great variety to suit all tastes. Service was prompt, drinks were excellent, and the overall experience was flawless. I left already looking forward to my next visit. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had—highly recommend to anyone looking for amazing food and a memorable evening! Ordered starters and mains, our starter and main come together. Had to tell them we ordered a starter and that our main shouldn’t come the same time. Had our starter which was poor. Then our mains come after, and had been re heated in the microwave. The bread was all soggy, I requested my steak medium rare it come well done (and I mean well done) chicken burger was dry. Very very poor restaurant for food, Me and my partner don’t feel great after as well, wouldn’t return.
