UK government Covid-19 guidelines in place. As 2 pools 1x 25m 1x baby pool on the ground floor with a medium size work out gym with free weights on the 1st floor. Also access from the entrance is a very fine cafeteria with excellent customer service. disability accessible Cafe open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. quality food with outside seating very reasonable prices good tasty food order from the counter but table service covid-19 government guidelines in place The is very nice and the pool water is warm and crystal clear. The locker room floor and changing cabins are dirty. There needs to be more regular mopping of the pool/locker area floors and a stricter enforcement of the no shoes on the deck policy. There's mud and debris everywhere. Also, the lockers and cabins would benefit from having more than one hook inside of them. Don't try and place a phone call to the St. Ives Leisure Center; you'll never get through, but end up on an endless loop of apologetic recordings out of Penzance. Great swimming pool engaging lifeguards. Really good cafe with outside seating overlooking St Ives. Excellent. Laura Davis, on reception, was very kind and helpful. We drove 5 hours and needed to pray. With no hesitation, she allowed me to use the private spare room for my short prayer. Much appreciated. Ps the facilities are great here. Joined the leisure centre for the gym but cancelled my membership within a few days and only two visits. Parking isn’t free, it was an additional £15 for 6 months on top of the membership, which was not explained anywhere prior to joining. seem friendly, but the facilities are clearly neglected and lacking basic maintenance. Male changing room had an awful smell and while there was a sign explaining why, it was obvious it had been there for a long time. Some equipment in the gym was broken, Water cooler also broken with accompanying tatty old sign. If the air conditioning was working then it’s totally inadequate!. I fully appreciate things break from time to time, but I had absolutely no confidence that the issues would be resolved. There is clearly a lack of investment and maintenance at the leisure centre. Customer service centre didn’t seem to care, weren’t interested in receiving any feedback and made no effort to retain me as a customer. If you are considering joining then I would advise that you go and check it out first! This review is aimed at the café. Popped in to grab something small to eat early in the afternoon before being able to check in to my hotel. They were rushed of their feet, Luke, the chef was also teaching a new member of on the till as well as fulfilling orders. Due to the overwhelming circumstances ( which they were both handling very politely and professionally), the chicken was missed off my BLT and chicken sandwich. I can genuinely say, however, that this man put up the best BLT I've eaten in my life. When I did ask about the missed chicken, Luke apologised and said he'd rectify this with something special, and he sure as hell fulfilled that promise. He returned with a 'big daddy blt with chicken' and my god, that was some fantastic food. Restaurant level food and flavour. I'm here for 3 days, and I will be back before I leave. Thank you again Luke, you're doing a fantastic job whilst multi-tasking the training of new staff. You made my day! Well run leisure centre, helpful friendly members, beautiful views from the gym ❤️ Really had a great experience at this leisure centre over the past year! All the are very very helpful and I absolutely love my classes here, especially my classes with Gemma. She is a fantastic instructor and her body pump classes have reignited my love of fitness! She is SO inclusive. Nobody is singled out, everyone is made feel so welcome which is something I was very scared about when I first started here! She really focuses on functional fitness and has such great knowledge about exercise and I truly now feel so much stronger and healthier in my day to day life. If you get the opportunity to attend a class of hers please do they are fantastic!
