We recently had Sunday lunch there, easy to find with ample off road parking. Don't let the outside put you off as a warm welcome awaits you once indoors. A truly old pub as I remember them from the 80's warm and cosy, also dog friendly. The service was exemplary with special mention to Beth who made us very much at home. The roast was bountiful and of a high quality as was the pudding, so much so I didn't eat again later! Would highly recommend and will return in the future. Party of 3. We visited here for a group meal during a choir tour this June. We were seated in a reserved outdoor area and a buffet style menu was served. The service was exceptional and the place had a lovely cosy country feel to it. They managed to feed 30+ of us and not a single complaint from any of us. The buffet included lasagne (which was gluten free), garlic bread, potatoes and a selection of salad. The vegetarians of the group received a tofu curry which they all said was delicious. A fantastic spot. * We travelled here by bus from a different location, so location wise I gave three stars as I am unfamiliar with the area * We booked to stay at the Holford Arms as a place near to Westonbirt Arboretum, and we were very pleased. It's a charming, warm place with very old overhead beams in the bar/restaurant area letting you know it's got history. The bedroom was fine, I was pleased to notice a hairdryer available to borrow from a basket in a windowledge in the corridor outside. The bed was very comfy, with a lovely oomfy white duvet and pillows. The shower worked well and was good and hot - maybe larger people (in width and height!) might be challenged getting in and out of the semi-circular shower cubicle, the door for which is very close to the loo, but it was absolutely fine for us. Downstairs the evening meal menu was imaginative and we were very happy with our choices - locally sourced venison with mustard mash for my husband, and a halloumi burger with fries and coleslaw for me. Lovely desserts too. We noted the Holford Arms grows what it can in its own garden, including heritage vegetables, fruit and herbs and likes to source as much as possible from the local area. I was impressed that there was oat milk sachets in the room as well as UHT milk to go with the tea and coffee supplies, and that at breakfast thought had been given to providing gluten-free cereals and vegetarian options. We enjoyed our cooked breakfasts (freshly made to order) too. Friendly hard working staff and a very pleasant experience indeed. We hope to return for another visit and would definitely recommend staying at the Holford Arms for cosiness, comfort and welcoming atmosphere - its proximity to Westonbirt was a great bonus. We stayed for 3 weekday nights in a nice quiet room on the first floor. Lovely poster bed. The staff were all really friendly and helpful especially Zoe who looked after us for breakfast. Thank you for your help with regards to where to visit and gluten free options. My only criticism is the TV is too small in the room and could be better placed above the chest of drawers. Otherwise very happy I've eaten here a few times, and recently stayed in one of the rooms above the pub after having attending a friend's birthday celebration here. The rooms are full of character, beds are comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the breakfast was spot on. The dinner menu was delicious. The team are lovely; really welcoming and helpful. Thank you. I will be back! Great pub with a delightful campsite, food was very good, good beer and cider, 2 local ciders on draft that are spot on! Lovely staff! Has a nice function room behind, I want to have a function/even there, maybe even my wedding!! We held our wedding at the Holford Arms this April and couldn't recommend it enough! The site, pub, barn and whole setting is beautiful and there are so many options for guests to stay including an area for camping which was excellent. They were hugely accomodating, helpful and relaxed which helped us to have the perfect day. The food was absolutely delicious (we've had many compliments!) and service was perfect. Thank you guys so much! Stayed one night in one of the chalets before an early visit to the Arboretum. Only wish we’d stayed a second night! The chalet was lovely, really nicely done and cosy. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in the pub near the fire. Will be back! We had our wedding at The Holford Arms and couldn’t have been happier! We stayed from Friday to Sunday, and the team did an absolutely fantastic job looking after everyone. The venue is full of charm, and the combination of the pub, onsite accommodation, and camping made it perfect for a relaxed weekend celebration. We felt that the venue really allowed us to make the day our own, giving us the freedom to create the party we had envisioned. The staff were friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that all our guests felt comfortable and well looked after. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion and will definitely be recommending The Holford Arms to anyone looking for a beautiful venue with amazing hospitality!
