Just note that on Google maps it doesn't show a loop when tracking your hike but the map by the dog parking lot has a map there. I recommend starting the trail on the bridge by the parking lot and going around that way since the descent wasn't sooo bad as it might be going up. Can take 1 - 1.5 hours We loved it here. It's so tranquil ambling along the scenic woodland path, listening to the sound of the river and waterfall. In spite of the name we didn't see any dogs apart from the one we brought with us. Autumn is a great time to be here with the beautiful colours of the leaves, though it can be a bit wet. Just be careful not to slip and fall in the water, it's very cold! Nice walk, but the river is pretty average as far as nature in the highlands goes and the waterfall is not spectacular - also it's not able to see it so well from up close. Nice parking but expensive, in return it had a pretty good and clean public toilet. If you are in the area anyway, you may want to stop by - but imo it's not worth a longer drive (e.g. from Inverness is too far) or as a sole destination. The main viewing platform was closed so we were unable to view the in their entirety, but the around the Scottish pines gave a great view. Also toilet at main carpet, clean. Edit. Returned this year, viewing platform is open but the view of the is still limited, after a around the forest we decided to drive over to Plodda which has a far better waterfall and viewing platform, further down the path and you can get a full view of the cascading under an old Redwood tree.
