This is a good easy going walk between two old bridges alongside the river. There is a good sized car at Silverbridge and another car at Little Garve. There are a series of smaller falls on this walk and a picnic table at a view point on the east side of the river close to the Silverbridge end. I located this place on interest on my map, found the site online and YES, this we need to visit. Reading about the history of Corrieshalloch Gorge and the Falks of Measach or Black Rock Falls was fascinating to learn. The drive from Garve into the Highlands is breathtaking, passing Silverbridge Falls and a very sad looking reservoir with a low volume of water. We arrived and what we were to witness, was magical in every way. There seemed to be numerous Falls around us, on both sides of the road. As we walked down the footpath, we saw two Dippers feeding in the shallow water. I would add stout footwear is required and leave the buggy behind, as the paths are uneven and plenty of steps to navigate. We eventually arrived at the suspension bridge, which only allows a maximum of 6 people at any one time. The were out of this world, they need to be seen with the eye to be believed. Down below us, way down, we saw swimmers enjoying their experience amongst the rocks. From here, we walked to the viewing platform along an uneven path to the observation platform, for more of the Gorge. Again a maximum of 6 people are allowed. If heights are a challenge, you can do it for a once of a lifetime opportunity. My wife managed both bridges. From the suspension bridge, we turned right, following the rugged footpath along Mrs Fowlers Fern Walk, which also offered more of the Gorge. We noticed lots of different coloured toadstools on our way. There is a steep climb up from the Gorge but an unusual shaped seat allows you to regain your breath. It, too, will seat up to 6 people. Back towards the visitor centre and a welcome drink and snack. On our arrival, we were greeted by one of the rangers who said she hoped we wouldn't be too disappointed by the size of the Falls due to the lack of rain this summer. In the wintertime, the sound is thunderous. The Gorge is an outstanding place to visit, though perhaps not for small children. The staff are welcoming and friendly, with a little gift shop and a cafe with covered seating and magnificent all around. I would recommend arriving early as its a popular tourist destination. There is an overflow carpark a few minutes walk from the main carpark. There is an old that you can view the waterfall from , nice scenery and landscape to the area. There is a sign at the start of the car that tells you about the build and the foot paths Great place, beautiful and amazing scenery, clean toilets and very nice facilities, loved the day out, water is clean and cold. Little scenic break on way to ullapool. Easy carparking with easy access to picturesque view of waterfalls and iconic overlooking the waterfalls. Was a bit wet underfoot when we were there so be carefull of the path from the to down to under the roadbridge for the look back to the old footbridge. Tiolet facilities are good but basic, and typical of most carpark facilities in Scotland. Spotless facilities at the carpark. Well marked trail and awesome views. Everything you could want. Oh, and a fantastic cafe ten minutes up the road.
