Lovely fine dining in a beautiful sea shore location well worth the 30 minute drive from Akureyri! I hugely enjoyed the local specialities such as reindeer fillet, foal, and beer ice cream. The views in the fjord are incredible. In season, you can visit an art center in the abandoned factory next to it. There even is a public hot tub at the sea shore (operated by a diving school) that can be used for ISK 700 - so bring a swim suit and towel just in case! The horse steak was tender, lean and enjoyable As for the desert, I tried the carrot pie which was perfect I highly recommend this Great Icelandic restaurant. The food is cooked with love and the quality is great. We recommend the 3 course menu, where you can have an starter like the soup of the day, then the course like the lamb of the day or fish of the day, and finally a tasty dessert. That day, we saw many locals passing by on their way to a nearby town festival (which made it especially nice that the was still open). The fish was great, and the lamb was excellent. The waiter recommended a very good beer. The espresso was also of a good standard. We spent a very good dinner at Eyri restaurant. The meals are ! The boss is very welcoming and nice. He gave us many advices for the rest of our trip in Island ! The place is also very confortable et warmwelcome. We visited randomly this restaurant. The is in small vilage outside of the roads, but it is worth to visit. We had two courses cod and lamb. Both meal were delicious. Dont miss the desert!
