Like all local in Iceland, this one is great. 1350 krona to enter (10 euros) with 5 hot tubs, multiple big pools, kids pool, slides, sunbathing zone Wild camping so great to have these amazing facilities. A good scrub before going for a wonderful swim in their wonderful facilities. Beautiful clean changing rooms, clear rules, impeccable hygiene. An amazing choice of (we did our lengths). Then a choice of hot tubs. Then another gorgeous shower. And amazingly powerful top quality hair dryers (ladies changing rooms). This is our second public swimming experience in Iceland and we cannot recommend more! No photos permitted in the facilities Hence the photo as we drove on our way all squeaky clean and happy. The happy ♥️ town of Akureyri and its amazing swimming complex! One of the best I've been to (huge call coming from australia). Hot pools, plunge and the slip n slide was honestly epic. Its affordable and you achieve maximum fun. We passed the local several times on our way to and from the ski resort, and every time, the kids spotted the towering waterslides and begged to visit. One late afternoon, after a full day on the slopes, we finally gave in—despite the chilly 2°C temperature, we grabbed our swimsuits and headed out, unsure just how warm the outdoor would be. To our surprise, the entrance fee was an absolute bargain—less than £20 for two adults and two children under 12! The changing rooms were clean and well-maintained, with lockers, showers, and liquid soap provided. Just remember to bring your own towel, shampoo, and conditioner. After we realised, Akureyri Swimming (Sundlaug Akureyrar) is one of the best geothermal in Iceland. It features multiple heated pools, hot tubs, exciting waterslides, a steam bath, and even a plunge for the brave (5-12 degrees celsius). The facilities are modern, spotless, and perfect for both relaxation and fun. We tried everything—the plunge, the various heated pools, and, of course, the slides. Four hours flew by in no time, and the kids still didn’t want to leave. Meanwhile, the adults were starving—8 PM and we still hadn’t had dinner, so we had to say goodbye- see you later! This place is a must-visit, and we’ll definitely be back on our next trip! For more north Iceland tips visit my instagram: mrsivyhyde This is a must visit if you're in this town! The are all geothermal heated. The lap are warm but not hot. There's several large hot tubs and some get to 110°F. They also have a plunge tank that's about 40°F. I thought I was too old for water slides but these two are incredibly fun! Overall it's a great visit and they have an amazing gym next door to add to it. Terrible wind and rain/snow kept us in the cute town of Akureyri longer than expected. This was the prefect way to spend our evening and it didn't break the bank. There were about 5 different hot tubs with varying degrees, a steam room, plugs and slides for the kids! Would highly recommend if you need something fun for the family that's affordable. A MUST visit. With a plethora of options, from warm to hot, the multiple are swimmable year round. It also has a plunge, a sauna steam room, a park for kids, and places to hangout. The water slides are really fast and really fun, even for adults. This really is an amazing swimming and one of my wife’s favorites she has ever visited. Great as a visitor. Combination of hot pots and swimming pools. Also a great steam room and pool… really the best way to enjoy some of Iceland’s geothermal delights.
