Nice and generally clean place, despite all the rubbish on the surrounding roads. and nest here and other wildlife is visible particularly early in the morning or in the evening. Please don’t feed the birds! They don’t need it. Very circle/walking path linking Lasswade Road to Straiton Park. My toddler loves it. Lovely down to the pond. Loads of ducks, but also and coots. Really on a sunny day, but can be very muddy Beautiful Beautiful and great to see nesting alongside coots and other birds fab place to visit great cyclepath from Sheriffhall to Roslin. Lovely wee hidden gem right by the retail - can and from Dunelm really easily in about a minute. Lovely safe path down to the and lots of and to see! relaxing afternoon A while since I have been here. The artwork in the bypass underpass is awesome. Urban art gallery. Still a little gem in the middle of the urban sprawl A Hidden Gem of Nature! Straiton is an absolute delight for anyone who enjoys peaceful walks, wildlife spotting, and beautiful scenery. The area is incredibly well maintained, with easy paths and plenty of spots to sit and take in the views. It’s quiet, clean, and perfect for a relaxing stroll or even a picnic. I’ve seen swans, ducks, and lots of other birds—great for nature lovers! Whether you’re going solo, with family, or just walking the dog, this place is a little slice of calm just outside the city. Highly recommend! It a great wee walk. Mainly level ground with tracks all the way round so even in the rain it's not too messy. We parked in the car at Dunelm/Subway/the gym and walked over. Circling all the way round in a simple loop it's about a 2km walk. The dog loves it. The has and with some benches around it so you can sit and watch them. There are connecting paths out to Gilmerton and Loanhead if you wanted to extend it further. peaceful nature reserve. I enjoyed the Just passed through on a bike ride. Hidden away but following the paths you'll come across it. There are a couple of places to sit by the pond. clean Who knew? Right next to the retail park, you have a wonderful wee to Straiton and its wildlife. The reserve links to the Rosslyn Chapel way which is a wonderfully converted disused railway line. Take the kids to feed the and swans Lovely scenery and wildlife Great for taking dogs a walk Brilliant place for cycling Very peaceful, scenery Nice to see the Lovely small beautiful scenery. Only down side is its very close to the Edinburgh bypass on one side which you can hear and on the other a housing estate making it rather narrow. While the is small it would be a place to sit and enjoy if they had any benches or places to sit which they don't. It is worth it, you can keep walking and on past and under the bypass and on. Lovely place for a walk, the surrounding are beautiful, Absolutely love this place. It’s local to me and a great place to engage with some nature, fantastic for my mental health walks. Kept and clean and well looked after. Thanks to the wardens and volunteers for that. No parking. Busy retail only parking available, no good when getting 3 kids through a busy car and over a busy road.
